Breaking: Brandon Crone Hired to Butler Staff

As broken on twitter by Kyle Murphy, sources have confirmed that Brandon Crone, the former Bulldog player was hired on as the Director of Basketball Operations to Chris Holtmann’s staff.

During his 4 years at Butler, Crone’s teams won 78 games, 29 of which came in a run to the Sweet 16 during which they beat Notre Dame, Indiana and Purdue all in the same season. Crone’s most memorable play during that year may have been during the 2nd round matchup against Maryland in which he hit two crucial shots to propel Butler to a showdown with #1 overall seed Florida. Since his career at Butler ended, Crone moved on to play in Europe from 2007-10 before starting his coaching career as an assistant for Park Tudor High School’s 2010-11 state championship team. He has spent the last 3 seasons as an assistant coach at Nova Southeastern University, an NCAA Division II program in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We’ll have more on the hire once the official announcement is made by the University, but let us know what you think about the hiring and what it means in the comment section as well as the message board.
