Butler Among Finalists For Several Recruits

Those who have been following Butler recruiting for a while know this hasn’t been a typical summer for the Bulldogs on the recruiting trail. Butler has traditionally used a “rifle” recruiting approach and only offered a few select players at a time. Coach Holtmann has opted for a different style; however, and we have seen a new offer go out seemingly multiple times per week this summer. It’s too soon to say whether this approach will be more effective, but it certainly has made the summer more interesting to follow.

The early signs are certainly looking optimistic. Several targets have narrowed down their list and Butler has been making the cut frequently. Here is a brief look at some Butler 2017 recruits who have trimmed down their list recently to include Butler:

Christian David
6’7″ 195 lbs
84th ranked Shooting Guard
Butler, Creighton, Miami, Oregon, Pittsburgh

Parker Stewart
6’5″ 185 lbs
163rd ranked Shooting Guard
Butler, Ole Miss, Kansas State, Georgetown, Wyoming, LSU, Nebraska

Andre Rafus
6’9″ 200 lbs
177th ranked Small Forward
Butler, Kansas, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Georgetown, TCU, Seton Hall

Kyle Young
6’6″ 205 lbs
119th ranked Small Forward
Butler, Michigan, Purdue, Ohio State, Michigan State, West Virginia, Clemson, Florida, Wisconsin, NC State

With the last evaluation period of the summer coming to an end this weekend you can expect these players and several others to start taking their official visits soon. It’s very probable a decision could be made before they start their high school season. With any luck it won’t be too much longer before “great day to be a Bulldog” starts echoing throughout social media.
