Holtmann Turns Down Georgia Tech

It seems like an annual offseason tradition, where other schools around the country try to pry away a Butler head coach with more money. It’s not quite the same since Brad Stevens left the Bulldogs to go take the Boston Celtics to the playoffs, but it hasn’t gone away either, and likely won’t anytime soon.

The latest school to get involved is Georgia Tech. According the Gary Parrish the Yellow Jackets aggressively pursued Chris Holtmann to become their next coach, but Holtmann has decided to remain with the Bulldogs.

It’s unclear how much Georgia Tech offered Holtmann, or even how much Holtmann currently makes with Butler, but one would have to assume he was offered a significant pay raise. Georgia Tech has not made the tournament the past 6 seasons and is looking to once again become a factor in the ACC.
