Forum Upgrades Complete - Feedback Requested

Did Tapatalk display it correctly in the past? I know it doesn't recognize a lot of the forum code.

I pretty much operate this site like a non-profit. I don't lose any money on the forum, but the more revenue it brings in the more I am able to do. If you would like to support the site a good way to do it that isn't very expensive is to upgrade your membership to VIP. There is a link to do this in the navigation bar up top. There was a donation link on the old site for anyone who wished to donate more, but that isn't back up yet. If you'd like to donate above the membership cost send me a message and I'll let you know how you can do that.

The past 2 years advertising revenue has tanked even though forum activity has remained pretty consistent. Companies have realized that forum ads simply don't work as well as other forms of advertising, and many clicks are actually accidental. Plus the number of websites selling ad space is growing faster than the companies selling ad space. This is probably partially why more and more sites have gone to the subscription model. Non paying members just don't generate the revenue they used to.

Because of this I too plan on making more use of the VIP membership here in the coming months. I don't want to go to premium content if I can help it, so for the foreseeable future all content on Butler Hoops will remain 100% free. But what I do plan on doing is making some of these paid forum addons only available to VIP members (I have not yet decided which ones). I'm hoping this will be a nice compromise, and a way to help finance the rest of the site without requiring anyone to pay for access to information. So everyone reading this can take this as a hint that buying the yearly VIP membership now before the price goes up might be a good move.

 

Fixed the search function so it will now return results from before the upgrade. Search feature is much easier to use than the old vBulletin software IMO.

 

Sorry, incorrect link. It's fixed now. I've been a little behind in adding some of these new forum features. I'm hoping to have the sportsbook back on the forums to by this weekend to test out for NFL Sunday.
