It's never too early to start talking about it. Andy Katz sure is... https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketbal...-ncaa-bracket-predicted-50-days-opening-night Sent from my SM-G935V using Butler Hoops mobile app
Good lord Andy Katz...Georgetown at 5 seed!?! I know they should continue to improve and could definitely make the tournament but with a pretty soft non-con this year (Texas and Syracuse are the standout games and neither team is a tournament guarantee by any means), Georgetown would need to win a heck of a lot of BE games to get up to a 5 seed.
Obviously he's got some upside and their 3 talented sophomores should continue to get better, but do you know how good Yurtseven will have to be to adequately replace Govan?
It's now a little outdated (I'll have one more preseason bracket later), but I did post my bracketology for this year a little over a month ago. Now I insert a not-so-humble brag of ranking at #8 in the country on the bracket matrix (but preseason brackets mean nothing) over the past four years of bracketology https://bustingbrackets.com/2019/08/01/bracketology-2020-way-too-early-projected-field-of-68/
I don't only cover Butler haha! I can't let any bias show through in my national pieces so I try to stay as objective as I can.
No I don't think we're in 5 seed territory yet. But it could happen. I think we'll easily make the tournament. I don't think our OOC schedule is that soft. If you go by last years NET/Kenpom we have: Penn State 49/43 Texas (N) 33/25 UNC Greensboro 68/87 @ oklahoma St 72/83 @ SMU 94/107 Syracuse 50/39 and if we beat Texas we get Duke (N) 3/4 so that's 3 Quad 1 games assuming we get past Texas and 4 quad 2 games. Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75. Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135. Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240. Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353. We also have a Quad 3 game in Georgia State 126/124. Samford 161/144 is just on the cusp of making it a second. Also only having 1 NET 300+ team on the schedule should make our NET and SOS pretty good. If we don't beat Texas then it takes a hit, but we have plenty of opportunities to pick up quality wins for the metrics and every BE game should be at least a quad 2 game except for DePaul and St. John's.
Posted my Black Friday edition of Bracketology this morning. It's still way-too-early but I had a bunch of people asking for it. Butler slots in as a No. 6 seed, for those who don't want to open the link https://bustingbrackets.com/2019/11/29/bracketology-2020-louisville-ohio-state-headline-early-projected-field/
Goes to show some of these national writers don’t watch any games in certain conferences. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
