I’m not disappointed so far. I’ve always hoped Butler would get a National Championship before Gonzaga. I don’t know why, maybe because we sort of grew up together in the 00’s?
If there’s any team that could score literally 65 points in a half and come back, it’s them. No lead is safe.
Suggs is gonna change the feel and athleticism discrepancy. Gonzaga is still getting pretty good shots when they aren’t turning it over, they’ve guarded better the last couple mins and the big guys for Baylor are each a foul away from foul trouble. There’s a lot of ways this can turn that get Gonzaga a break they need, and Baylor isn’t gonna shoot 85% on 3’s. I was also worried that covid was gonna be over by the time the NCAA tourney rolled around last year and I would be back in the office and not able to see the day games while WFH like I planned. The problem with that is you have to stop Baylor...and Zaga can't. Can't get a rebound....can't win the game.
Think it was 25-22 at half. Stigall opened the 2nd half with a 3 to make it 28-22. Then the rest happened. “The rest” is what is happening here.

It was a Stig 3 but it made it 25-19 with 19:40 to go. I really thought we were going to do it at that point and I was ready to party all night in Houston. Instead, I watched the worst 19 minutes of Butler hoops history and drove 15 hours straight back to Indianapolis with a stomach full of Monster and a heart full of sadness.
