Congrats to Baylor There gameplan and approach was stellar What truly made me upset about Baylor winning is that we almost beat that same team on their home floor last year and they were one of the favorites to win it last year also. I know past is in the past but last years team was in my opinion as good as it gets to make a run in the tourney!!! Damn you covid!!! Nearly 17 million people tuned in for the championship game the other night. That's a pretty good number. Compare it to the CNBA finals (any game) last year. Blows them out of the water.
I know better but I’ll ask anyway...... what’s the “C” stand for? Sent from my iPad using Butler Hoops mobile app
I recently looked up the last several years of college hoops vs football championship ratings and it wasn’t as different as I expected. I don’t remember the exact difference but it was pretty comparable. Edit: quick google tells me the 2021 football champ - which had the two biggest brands in college football, the equivalent of a Kentucky-Duke NCAAB final - drew 18.6 million viewers. Sent from my iPhone, so it’s probably not written all that well
It's a country in Asia. In terms of ratings, college basketball always gets diluted from the sheer number of games that occur. It's not as popular as football to be sure, but if there were only 120 teams that played once a week for 14 weeks, the ratings would certainly be bigger. The championship game ratings were down from 2019 and 2017, but a big part of it is who is playing in the title game (Neither Baylor or Gonzaga are a big draw like Duke, UNC, or Kentucky), and the immediate blowout didn't help anyone.
I think that's remarkable. I also think being starved a year of the madness had even the casual fan tuning into many games. But I'm with you. I had no idea it would be that close with football.
