Are we the last team in the country to release the non-con?

    Feels like it, doesn't it?

According to D1 Docket, which tracks college hoops schedules & announcements, 134 of 363 teams have released their non-conference schedules as of this afternoon.

The only other Big East team that has not released its schedule, though, is Providence.

For reference, the final touches on last season's non-conference schedule were announced on 8/5. Conference schedule was announced on 9/23.

Wow. Going to be a nice break for the squad between non con and conf season.

Trying to read that graphic is killing my eyes, but I am glad it's finally out. I updated the initial post on this thread. Time to go shout at a cloud or two.

Most of the Big East non-conference schedules end between Dec. 10-14. DePaul, St. John's & Nova all have games on Dec. 17 against other P6 teams, but the rest of the league is open. My assumption is that we're going to see a lot of mid-December conference basketball and the league told them to keep those dates open to accommodate the 20 game round robin.

Does The Citadel have the same coach as the last time they played Butler?

God I hope so. I’m so down for one of those games again, especially with the way this team can run.

No, Duggar Baucom was replaced by Ed Conroy back in March it looks like. Conroy was at Vandy last year, and he was the Citadel Head Coach previously from 2006-10.

    I see us going 9-2

Both loses in battle for Atlantis with one win there as well

If they can go 2-2 in the three games in the Bahamas and the game at PSU, that’s definitely a win. They have to win at least 6 of the other 7, and should win all 7.

I think 9-2 is a good target. 10-1 is a massive success. 8-3 is OK. 7 or less and it’s a long season.

    Conroy has been around:

    Coaching Career
    2022 • The Citadel • Head Coach
    2021-22 • Vanderbilt • Associate Head Coach
    2020-21 • Minnesota • Associate Head Coach
    2016-20 • Minnesota • Assistant Coach
    2010-16 • Tulane • Head Coach
    2006-10 • The Citadel • Head Coach
    2005-06 • Coastal Carolina • Assistant Coach
    2003-05 • Tennessee • Assistant Coach
    2000-01 • Tulsa • Assistant Coach
    1997-2000 • Francis Marion • Head Coach
    1994-97 • Furman • Assistant Coach
    1993-94 • VMI • Assistant Coach
    1990-93 • NC State • Assistant Coach

For me, his biggest claim to fame is that he's the cousin of my favorite author, Pat Conroy, who, like Ed, attended and played basketball at The Citadel. If you're not familiar with Pat, you might know some of his books (several of which were turned into movies): The Great Santini, The Prince of Tides, The Water is Wide, Beach Music, South of Broad, The Death of Santini. Pat died about five years ago. We visit the Pat Conroy Literary Center in Beaufort, SC about once each year. If you want to read an interesting basketball book, try Pat's My Losing Season about his senior season as point guard of The Citadel team after three seasons as a bench-warmer.

You bring lots of really interesting information to this board. It’s like stuff I want to look up but don’t have to because you just anticipate it. Love it.

Trust me… lots of road teams go into the Bryce Jordan Center and get a win. Barely a true road game.

You have a huge arena that can hold something like 18k with maybe a third of it full… maybe…

That atmosphere could be on the verge of changing with this coaching staff.

Agree on the seven wins with this non con schedule, that would not have me pumped for conference play

Is it just me or does this seem a bit on the weak side of a non conference schedule?

Well with a holiday tourney and 3 games against P5 teams (two on the road), I'd say it's more than sufficient before the BE grind.
