I read an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette proposing that if Miller is canned in AZ, Pitt should hire him. I think that says two things:
    1. the Pitt fanbase is feeling desperate
    2. ethics be damned, "Just win, baby" is what a lot of big time college sports is about at some schools

I believe someone said it in the UC-irvine thread (sorry cant remember who) but it seems AT is quickly becoming the most important piece for this team and I'm inclined to agree. A) he's emerged as a legitimate do it all point guard b) he is clearly a floor general/leader and c) we don't have any sub for him and our team seems to transform the most (usualully bad) when he leaves the court.

I gotta give him some mid season props as I was concerned about his development coming into the year but he has become one of my favs. I hope he can keep it up because with him on the court everyone is better and we are a complete team. Without him it's a crap shoot.

EDIT - it was @I Am Butler that made original observation.

I agree with this assessment more than I can express. I just didn't get the hype over him last year at all. This year.......I cant believe the player he is. Where will he be next year? To me he is the most important player to keep on the floor. He does everything, and now that he finishes at the hoop with his passing ability, it opens up so many kicknouts it's crazy

AT has such good footwork and mobility he should consider adding a dance minor. The kid can really move.

I’m waiting to see how AT does against Marquette and St. John’s. Ditto for Jordan Tucker’s next four games.

Not Insane so can’t speak to that, but those will be fun matchups. The two best scorers in the Big East are probably Howard and Ponds. Myles Powell and Kamar up there as well.

AT is the best on-ball defender in the league and possibly the best overall defensive player. Hopefully he can shut those guys down.

Agree it will be a real test of AT Defense to shut down Ponds and Howard. But if I recall, didnt dawgs shut those two down pretty well last season (I know Ponds didnt play one game)?

I just didnt know if Insane was saying he was waiting before he agreed that AT was a hell of a defender.

AT has rare combination of speed, quickness and strength coupled with a willingness to do the "dirty work" often overlooked in a box score. He is rapidly becoming one the premier defenders in the country IMO.

I can't remember what thread it was on and a quick search didn't turn it up, but during the off season there was a conversation about great Butler point guards and where Thompson fits in that discussion.

I was thinking about that this morning and about how much I am enjoying watching Thompson play this season. I suspect the first half of this year has changed some folks minds.

Anyway, I went looking to see where his career assist numbers fall at the moment. He's at 5.3 apg this season and 4.1 on his career. He moved into Butler's top ten in total assists earlier this season and is sitting at 6th with 339. Jackson is number 1 at 540. Barring injury or some other unexpected setback, Thompson is on track to break that number.

He won't match Jackson or Nored on steals, but he should enter the top ten there, too.

Just imagine how good AT would be if he had an outside shot

Aaron Thompson with a jump shot is the back up PG for the Milwaukee Bucks and used to play at IUPUI.

I'd settle for 75% at the free throw line.

If he had a shot, He would get drafted. You need good guards to make the Final 4. If AT had a shot, It would almost secure a Final 4 spot and you would then see AT and Kamar drafted in 2020.

I know next to nothing about what makes an attractive NBA draft candidate. Seems like being able to dunk every time you drive is the number one characteristic with second being able to shoot threes. Will KB get drafted?

Everything I have seen so far this year makes no mention of KB getting drafted. I thought I had actually read somewhere that folks were giving Battle the once-over as far as a long-term prospect.

I think KB has a place somewhere on an NBA roster?

    I agree
We had a guard from Montana university named Will Cherry and he was the same type of player but he played with the cavs for half a season
Baldwin can find a place forsure it’s just going to need the perfect fit

Martin at Minnesota has worked out great for him to prove himself This year and weather it’s with the wolves or not I think he has earned a two year contract for next year

I would think Kamar’s biggest hurdle would be his height.
