Top 100ish point guard with an offer list that suggests he's even better than that.

Stanford was "warm" on him per 24/7, so I'm thinking this is a Schrage connection.

Cool to be involved and worth a Hail Mary, but he's from Arizona and has an Arizona offer (along with many other Pac-12 offers). Seems like a really long shot.

The only chance is if his relationship with Schrage is exceptional. Not something to bank on.

Probably an uphill battle. But it does look like Arizona has 31 open offers for 2 available spots. And for PG, they have offers out to 7 players that are ranked higher than Barcello.

Well, Miller is a Xavier guy. They give offers out like candy.

But I believe ASU was also on Barcello's list. So it could still help!

And they also just added Dylan Smith, who'll be a sophomore in terms of eligibility in 2017, and he'll play some point, right?

But Arizona is just one problem. There's also Virginia, for which he's listed as having high interest. Also Stanford, but I wonder what impact the staff turnover has there. What's Virginia's point guard situation look like?

edit: here it is - http://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/virginia

Virginia will have some senior PGs on the team his freshman year, and a 4 star PG in the class ahead of him. They've also got offers out to a couple of PGs more highly regarded than him.

Looks like our sell against them should be nearly-guaranteed immediate PT.

I think people are forgetting how critical it is that his name sounds like a more cultured version of Alex Barlow

From what can reasonably be gleaned in a few minute video, he seems like a good kid. Ostensibly very interested in academics, so we won't be getting passed over for that reason, at least.

Honestly, there aren't a ton of elite academic schools with consistently great basketball programs. In no way am I comparing our academic firepower or prestige with that of Berkeley, Duke, etc., but I think we fare better than most if a kid is genuinely looking to land at a place that offers the best mix of competitive basketball and rigorous academic training.

Stud basketball player and top student... Are you kidding?! Sign this kid up... Yesterday. Super quick from the video. Can shoot. Can pass. Will be able to run the team. My #1 want.

Then go get Wilkes and Jackson :)

You've got to think this is a Schrage legacy recruitment from Stanford, right? Hope we can get a visit.

+ A Bunch. He is the PG Butler needs. His best days are in front of him, not a generation ago.
