Do the producers of the show have a hand in who the guy picks each week? The entire concept just seems so contrived.
One reason it was considered a Christmas movie was it was released at the holidays. Back in the day, movie moguls took advantage of Christmas break to lasso bucks by releasing blockbusters to coincide with the break from work and school.

Troggy, I think you're on to someting. This year, and is seasons past, I'm left shaking my head at some of the choices made! There's NO WAY the man/woman wants to keep the clowns that the end up keeping. I have to believe they get some "hints" from production to keep some of the drama producing candidates who will keep people watching! Just my opinion.
