If DePaul wins, our road win stays in Q2. If X wins, I usually throw up a little in my mouth. This game has been painful to watch. Sloppy on both sides & tied with 3+ to play.
Xavier got outscored by 20 points in the last five or six minutes. At home. How they beat Butler is incomprehensible. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
I watched the last few minutes of the Wisconsin game at Michigan. I know now where LJ gets his strategy for late game situations. Nursing a one or two point lead....Michigan put the ball in the hands of Charles Mathews and got our of his way....it was just Mathews trying to beat the defense by himself....and it worked. Of course Mathews is 6-6 and was a high school all American.
I was just perusing the holylandofhoops site and there's a discussion about who each school would likely hire if their head coach were to depart after this season. Someone from Marquette listed Brad Stevens as a possibility. I literally laughed out loud and thought I'd share with you all in case you also needed a laugh.
I popped over to the Xavier board and their fire Steele thread is 12 pages long. Quite entertaining. Someone mentioned Alford (sounds familiar) as well as hiring Thad as an assistant (sounds familiar). Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
I used to occasionally go over there for entertainment, but haven't once this year. Some of the posters are pretty delusional and that was when things were going well. I can only imagine how off the rails it is since they're a bottom feeder this year. This board would probably be just as bad, if the roles were reversed. So glad it's the way it is. Has any BU fan gone on the X board to "explain" something? Those attempts are always well received. lol
Remember we often talked about Goodin's really bad shooting games in AAU where he missed 10-15 shots? It was on full display Saturday night. And it was the opposite for Scruggs. As out of control & undisciplined as he was when we watched him at Southport, he had decent court presence and shot the ball fairly well. The kid must have really worked on his game in the last couple of years.
Scruggs is their most consistent player and perhaps best player. Wish he would have come to BU and I bet he wishes he had gone anywhere other than Xavier.
