Big East Conversation

The Big 12 has one loss. The Big Ten has 2 losses. The SEC has two losses. Etc. It’s week one and power conferences are mostly playing crap teams. The records aren’t that relevant to looking at how they’ve played.

X has not looked good. Marquette has played bad. Creighton has looked terrible. Georgetown just lost to Dartmouth. Etc.

The conference has dropped to sixth in the ratings. It’s a bad start, but it wasn’t really expected to be a great year for the league. That’s all.

Very impressive showing today by the Hall in absolutely abusing a Yale team that isn’t that bad. I think they may have been undervalued coming into this season.

Remember a few years ago when we were all going crazy as Butler was getting it's shot as the "little guy" playing the big schools?

(Think 2001 against Wisconsin and 2003 against Duke) and we were all saying how we loved those upsets (yes, Duke won in 2003, but Butler missed at least 20 layups that game).

My, how the fan base has changed and is now calling any loss to a small conference school a "bad loss"

 

First time watching Smart’s Marquette this year. They started the game against Illinois with full court press and jumping passing lanes.

Regarding Loyola’s move to the A10:

 

I’m torn watching this Creighton game. On one hand, it would be cool for the BE to jump to a 3-0 lead in the Gavitt Games. But on the other hand, I really don’t like Creighton.

And I take back my worries about the big east conference not being up to par. It now looks very good and scary.

Hope we win as well tomorrow because there are some good looking big east teams right now.
