None of that was untrue…? The league was off to a bad start. The league looked bad. This week it has looked a lot better. I’m sorry it hurt your feelings. Sent from my iPhone, so it’s probably not written all that well
Nova looked pretty dominant against a top TN team. Really don’t want to even think about playing them twice. Sigh. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
I don't know if you've heard, but we're in the midst of a run of inflation, so beer could be two bits by then. Half the children in the crowd may be sober enough to drive!
Just realized BE play opens tomorrow night with Villanova @ Creighton. Saturday features Marquette @ Xavier and Providence @ Connecticut. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Wow! Creighton 79, Nova 59. I started to look up when the last time was that Nova had lost by that much. Turns out it was last Sunday in its 21-point loss to Baylor. (Before that it was on November 14, 2019 in a 73-46 home loss to Michigan.) I guess this means it must be Jay Wright's Last Season. /s
St. John’s, without Champagnie, just lost at home to an awful Pittsburgh team 59-57. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Big East Season Bottom Four Prediction: 8. DePaul 9. St John’s 10: Georgetown 11. Butler Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
DePaul forfeits game against Creighton due to COVID - Creighton gets a conference win (no effect on overall record) and DePaul gets a conference loss.
There is no way that “forfeits” are in the best interest of the conference for Covid absences if Covid progresses at the rate that it seems like it will. Beyond punishing teams for what is likely uncontrollable, it’s hard to look at a team with 13 wins overall and take them in the tournament. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Yeah I'm not sure I'm on board with the forfeit/covid stuff. I mean, it's spreading and IF you're going to stop kids from playing if they test positive, for a virus that is no way their fault and that millions upon millions have tested positive for....seems pretty cold. A magillion+bagillion things have been attempted to stop this virus from spreading and yet, even vaxxed and boosted types are still getting it-so why punish these hard working college athletes? I don't like the way it smells. JMO.
Then again, if we somehow don't have tons of cases and others do, maybe that's the ticket to not going 0-20 in the big east this season? I kid, kinda.
The virus is going to mutate. It’s what it does. I’m at the point where eventually it’ll be like the flu - get your yearly shot to protect against the major strains of that particular year/season and schools and such just deal with it. Can’t be testing my 5 year old every time she gets a fever and keeping her out of school for however long forever. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
