Riddle me this: why was Butler's game against UConn in the XL Center (capacity 15,564) and X's game against the Huskies is at Gampel Pavilion (capacity 10,167)? Were they expecting Butler to be a lot better, X a lot worse, or was it just a scheduling thing? I, for one, would have been happy for far fewer people to have seen Butler's debacle in Hartford.
Dumb question, but is Bronny going G league or is there a gaggle of schools looking for his services? Also, is he the real deal or cashing in on his Dad? Because, I don't know about you, but having Lebron show up to Hinkle a few times a year surely wouldn't hurt the rebuild. I'm sure it's a pipe dream, but we do need a stud PG.
He's not his dad - who is? - but he is a legit high level recruit. He's certainly going to a Nike school, maybe THE Nike school. Beyond that, who knows. Honestly, I'd rather not have the circus that's sure to follow him in his one year of college. He's going to be good, but I don't think he'll be so good that it offsets the distraction.
This UCON X game is quite entertaining. High level hoops and a little bit of everything. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
UConn was down 15 to X at half after shooting 1-14 on 3s. In the first 8 1/2 minutes of the second half, they have scored 30 points and hit 6 of 8 threes, closing to within three.
lol listening to the broadcast of the Nova vs Providence..."I never doubt Brian O'Connell, he's just the very best official in the game." Barf lol
Feels better to know it can happen to other teams as well. GTown hit a 3 at the at the buzzer to end the half against StJohns.
Bad luck traveled down I-74 to X. Matt Norlander @MattNorlander Breaking: Xavier's Zach Freemantle will miss at least a month with a left foot injury, Sean Miller told @CBSSports . It's the same foot he had surgery on in 2021. Freemantle's among the most efficient bigs in the country: 15.2 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 58.5 FG%.
Watching this Villanova Marquette game is so different than watching Butler. The intensity, movement on offense, physicality is all so different than what we watch. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
This is only his second game in 10 months. Nova looks different w Justin Moore. Feel kinda bad for the high seed in the Big East Tourney who draws Nova
The X Providence game before above was unbelievable in terms of intensity and physicality. Also coaching... Great stuff.
That was a fun one to watch. Perhaps my fav thing about the BE is having random really good games frequently between programs where i am very very familiar with Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Then there's this from St. John's: Division I university cheerleaders refuse to perform at basketball game after getting ignored on 'Women in Sports Day' https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ot...A175yCU?cvid=11520ed2584a4f4f9c6b6796da4b9340
I see Georgetown rising up to give UConn all they can handle today... so basically we are the ONLY team in the Big East able to play a competitive game against any of the conference powers this season... that's the most disappointing of all the negatives this year for me.
I assume you meant "UNable to play a competitive game against any of the conference powers". Fortunately, that was ameliorated later this afternoon when we lost by 8 at conference-leading Marquette. It's at least a glimmer of hope.
Appreciate the obvious correction... and another confirmation of why I have no betting account, I surely would have given the 15 today !
Despite a 10-13(4-8) record, the retirement of Jay Wright, and multiple injuries I think Villanova is a dark horse team that could make a run the last month of the season and in the BE tourney now that they’re getting healthy. They have a pretty solid core in Eric Dixon, Caleb Daniels, Justin Moore, Cam Whitmore, & Brandon Slater. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
