Bill Shepherd Sr. Passes away

    Bill Shepherd, an Indiana all-star and Hall-of-Fame coach who played for Tony Hinkle and later coached his 2 sons to Mr. Basketball careers, Bill Jr. Playing for Butler ('68-'71), then in the ABA, and David who played at IU and 'Ole Miss, passed away today.

    I remember when he played high school ball for the long-gone Hope High School. I think Luke Walton was broadcasting a Hope game I heard on the radio. Hope is fairly close to Columbus. There were at least 750 HS teams then.
