I don't know where this rumor is originating, but it's out there.
Unreal. I don't even know what to think right now.
Yep, done and done. Holy **** dude. Good for him. But what the **** for the rest of us and BU and recruiting and...Jesus Christ.
Makes letting Matthew Graves go hurt quite a bit.
Wow that sort of came out of nowhere.
Why? This is a high major program.
Butler should and probably will just have an interim coach and do a real hiring next spring.
My thoughts exactly.
Worst part was is that it just came out of nowhere. Here is to hiring LaVall.
Yep, I'm right there with you...Just wild.
Yeah with a $2 million plus budget I don't think Graves was an automatic by any stretch.
So...what now? Brandon Miller? Someone that can keep the recruiting going or we'll have a class of 2 stars and will be big east bottom feeders for awhile.
Interim head coach......
Hold the spots....
Real coach (preferably successful mid major) signs a couple late and has 4/5 for 2015...
Collier? At least to calm things down? Or Miller or someone outside....thoughts?
That may be the way to play it. Oy.
I agree I think you name an interim coach for 12-13.
Literally the only thing Butler had going for it relative to the other programs in the Big East just vanished into thin air. This hurts.
He chose the worst possible time to do it too, right before the July evaluation period, heading to a new conference, etc....
But you said Stevens was at best a mid major coach.
The press release from Butler says that the process of hiring an new coach has already begun...not sure they're thinking about going the interim route...
'Danko added, "We have done everything we can to keep Brad here at Butler; however, the Celtics team has offered Brad and his family a unique opportunity with which no university can compete."
Butler has begun the process of hiring a new head coach to lead the men's basketball team in its inaugural year of BIG EAST Conference competition.'
Separate names with a comma.
