It is going to be a tough sell. With changes in the tax law regarding donations and shaky product on the court look for a drop in season ticket sales and donations. You better
believe Barry will take notice. Too Bad.

Our seats went from $495 to $545 or 10%. With my father getting too old to climb the Hinkle ramps we are scaling back from 4 to 2 season tickets. I will be interested to see if the numerous forecasts of reduced season ticket sales comes to fruition resulting in better seat selection for those of us renewing. Always a Silver lining.

This is for strictly informational (and not apologist) purposes, but there are 19 home games on the 2019-20 schedule vs. 18 last season.

  7. I'd bet a lot of money that season ticket sales take a huge hit. I know of 8 individuals as of now that are not renewing.

Your current year cost was $38.61/game. Next year is $39.47 per game. An increase of 2.2%. CPI for last 12 months was 1.9%. It is I outrageous they should seek a full .3% above inflation.

Didn’t know about the extra game but thanks for the detailed analysis. But you forgot to add the extra $25 in parking pass too? What does that make it?

Basketball pays the freight, all other sports depend on men's basketball.

I think it's more a function of the exempt tournament having two neutral court games next season instead of three. Last season BU played 13 non-conference regular season games: 7 home, 3 neutral at Atlantis, 1 neutral at Crossroads, and 2 road games (Florida and SLU). This season it looks like 8 home, 2 neutral at HOF Classic, 1 neutral at Crossroads, and 2 road games (Ole Miss and Baylor).

Still of the opinion that it would be better for the team if they played in one "secret scrimmage" against someone legit vs hosting a preseason exhibition against some directional school, but I guess the athletic department can't swing it financially...

It's about the money, a closed scrimmage doesn't bring any nrevenue.

We should all get a discount. Takes some balls to increase prices after that season. Although, prices are still reasonable.

    Butler fans:
"Butler is never going to get anywhere without spending more money."

    Also Butler fans:
"I, a graduate of a private university, living in a metro area with a low cost of living, who has previously afforded entertainment such as season tickets to D1 college basketball, amongst other luxuries, am unwilling to deal with any attempt to raise additional revenue."

(This assumes that the season ticket holder is local and a graduate. That seems more common than other scenarios.)
