Butler’s defensive execution for most of the game was top notch. Arkansas shot poorly, and some of that was good fortune, but a lot of it was because Arkansas took the shots Butler wanted them to take. They took a ton of midrange jumpers. They got very few easy baskets at the rim. The coaches did an outstanding job on the scouting report.

I always told my teams, the purpose of offense is to take the shots we want to take and the purpose of defense is to make the other team take the shots we want them to take. It is simple but pretty successful formula.

Does anyone know where I can find a replay of the full game? Missed the 2nd half because of a work happy hour that I couldn't get out of.

Defense on the perimeter was outstanding as it limited Barford and Mason to 27 points on 7/21 shooting. Interior on Gafford was also outstanding. He was mostly a non factor. Arkansas shot 4-18 from three which were tough to get off.

We out rebounded them 45-25 which is stunning. KM + KB combined had 51 points on 18-33 shots including 7-14 from three. Those two also had 18 rebounds and were 8-8 from the free throw line. McD was amazing as well with 11 points and 7 rebounds. The kid has such a great understanding of the game. Wideman, Fowler and Fowler were critical.

Dang is AT quick. KB and KM are both grossly under publicized nationally.

See what happens when you DON'T make a prediction? Let's keep THAT streak going.

    Just teasing.

Marchmadness.com sometimes allows full game replays the day after. Not sure tho. I still haven't seen one minute of the game either. I sure hope the DVR worked.

At least he's realistic about his opinion.

Why does enrollment matter anyway? Has he never heard of Duke?

To answer somebody from a little earlier... the line for Butler v Purdue opened at BU +4 which quickly moved to +3.5

I was flying Washington - Toronto this afternoon, and when i boarded the plane it was 21-4. When i got to the other end, Butler had won by 17, I assumed it was fairly plain sailing. Then I read the recaps, how wrong could i be!

Super proud of the team and coaches. They wore gritty not pretty shirts and that is exactly how they played. Butler TGHT defense, and Jordan’s (and the coaches) game plan was tremendous.

Aside from the obvious stars playing well (KB and KM), big contributions from Wideman, McDermott, and Thompson. Thompson in particular was fantastic. His defense was incredible, and his blow by penetration setup open 3 after open 3. Hoping for more of that.

    Survive and advance.

That was Arkansas' lowest point total for the season.
