Starting the game thread; go ahead and move this to the sportsbook when it needs to be moved.
#18 at #11 in the AP poll. Expecting Baylor to be favored by 6 or so, right? They've already taken down Arizona and Villanova, and they're pretty deep.
I'd say yes, 6-7 probably. This is going to be a very good measuring stick. As you've said they've had a hell of a season much like us so far and have beaten slightly better teams. We know that we are good. Just how good are we? We shall see late night tomorrow.
It might boil down to who hits the most threes. They go four deep at the guard position and are very good.
Yeah, this game scares me because Baylor is a very good shooting team - and we've been fortunate that a lot of the teams we've played have shot poorly. Hopefully we can catch them off-guard following a big game against Arizona on Saturday.
However, if Butler does go into the Land of Chip and Joanna Gains and escape with a win, then you have to start talking about Butler being a Top 10 team.
"In one day, my team is playing in the Big East-Big 12 challenge. Normally at this time I would be a nervous wreck. But I am not. I know we are going to defeat Butler on Tuesday in a way that the last 10 minutes I will be relaxed. The season we have had will not allow us to lose this game. Now come January 4th against Texas, I will be back to my normal nail biting self. Big 12 opener on the line, how could I not be.
I am not sure why I am so confident. Maybe it's because I know Stanford handed that game to Butler. Stanford was up 1 late and went to the out house. Maybe because Butler's BIG wins are questionable. No Turner for Florida, Ole Miss ending was dicey to say the least.
But I think the majority of my confidence in tonights game is simply we are just to great a team to lose this game to this team tonight. lets freakin' go Bears. Our destiny is in Atlanta."

Three things I'm interested in:
Baylor can shoot it from deep. Butler has generally played teams that don't shoot it well from deep - not just in their games against Butler, but in general. How many threes does Baylor make?
Baylor is elite at getting second chances. It's actually the hallmark of Scott Drew teams in general: year after year, Baylor dominates the offensive glass, including this season. Butler has been very good at pulling down defensive boards thus far, ranking 18th in DR% nationally. Is it enough to neutralize this strength of Baylor's?
Baylor's defense has done a great job at turning teams over. Butler is elite at protecting the ball. Can Baylor 's thievery disrupt the slow, deliberate, protective Butler offense? (Baylor turned Nova over on 19% of its possessions and 22% of Arizona's possessions; those teams' average TO rates are 17 each, a good but not great rate. Aside from those two, Baylor has played several teams who are awful at protecting the ball, so it's hard to tell just how disruptive their defense is.)
Baylor sophomore point guard Jared - ahem - Butler has bee flat-out elite so far this season. Can AT prove how underrated he is as a defender and shut this guy down?
Fouls will be a determining factor. It will be extremely important for BU to play efficiently while controling tempo and pace.
I think if Butler wins tomorrow they are definitely a top ten team. Going 10-0 with six major conference wins is a better performance than anyone so far
No! Never before March. Never.

I see adk anything or THUNDERDUNKS, I press the like button.
Glad you pointed out our strength at defensive rebounding. Our blocking out has been exceptional
This is fair, but we didn't get to use it last March so I felt withdrawls.
Agree, they're a very good rebounding team as well (especially on the offensive glass). Nze & Golden will have their hands full.
I know we are a good team, but I think, this one will tell us if we can be a great team. Going to need a big effort on the road, but if we continue to play with the resilience we have so far this year, I think we'll be in it at the end, with a chance to win. That's about all you can ask for on the road against a really good team.
I love the reference back to when that was originally posted in 2010. But Butler has been in the Big East for 7 years now. It's probably time to retire it as a running joke going forward.
Every game before Florida we jumped out early and held on and didn’t fold. Against Florida we sucked for a big part of the first half then stepped on the gators. This team is so incredibly focused. We may lose tomorrow but I don’t see this team folding like last year.
I tend to think our past opponents have shot poorly in part to our strong defense. I think our defense can win this game. We need to win this game so Joey Loose @JLoose128 can expand undefeated Butler on his map to at least the state of Indiana!

Florida got a ton of good looks though. We have to be tighter than that. Baylor can knock it down much better than Florida. And maybe we game planned to allow those looks, focusing more in other areas. We need a different game plan against Baylor defensively.
Baylor didn't shoot well from 3 against Arizona. Arizona shot even worse, and lost. Not sure if AZ ran them off the line, or if it was just an off night.
