A place where we can discuss the world of sports betting, including rules/regulations, good or intriguing odds, and tales from the trenches. I'll start-- Sports betting becomes legal in OH starting 1/1/2023. However I routinely find myself in Indiana and Kentucky so I've been meaning to get my feet wet. Are there any apps/websites you all typically like to use? Are there any good places to put bets on Butler before the season begins?
DraftKings has by far the best app. Start there, but I recommend downloading at least a couple to be able to shop lines. They don't usually differ all that much, but worth it if you are betting money over $10.
Agree. DK - great Fanduel - good Caesars - ok Mgm and points bet - terrible There are others. Sign up for them all if for no other reason than to get the new user freebies.
Yeah depending on how many apps that are "official" in the state, download a few of them to compare plus get the new signup perks. Since they'll always run different promos on odds or sure bet type offers, I'd have at least three or so.
follow @PromoGuyMI on twitter to keep up to date on all the promos and odds boosts offered by sportsbooks online. If you do as many books and as many promos as possible, you will make money.
I am hearing Louisville is awful this year. They play Bellarmine tonight. Bellarmine is +8.5..... seems intriguing.
Bellarmine not being eligible for the Tournament until 2025 bc of the NCAA's acclimation rule is such bush league. Couldn't play in the NCAA and NIT last season. Ridiculous
Can’t say I’ve ever bet on soccer before. Didn’t know you could bet on # of corners, total goals, or if Wales could score in the last 10 minutes. Pretty intriguing. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
I wonder if you watch and see there’s a PK, and then immediately bet if wales will score Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Just registered with 4 sportsbooks for promos as Ohio allows betting starting tomorrow. All in all it’s around $400 worth of free bets Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Draftkings, fanduel, MGM, and Caesar’s. There’s like 3 others but I got sort of burnt out after that. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Some banks don’t allow transfers in. When I first started in Indiana, I had to get creative with my bank. My bank still won’t let me transfer $25 to TwinSpires for Derby day.
Got my first $5 bet out of the way on the dawgs with DK and got $200 in free bets. Currently sitting 2/3 on a parlay boost (OSU -2 over NW was easy pick) just waiting on Purdue/Rutgers to go O-129 tomorrow night. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
For those in OH- draftkings and fanduel both have +100 odds boost as long as 1+ points are scored in tonight’s MNF game. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Any good bets tonight? I’m going Oilers -1.5 in hockey. Hit a big Kraken -1.5 over the weekend. I feel like I’m classic casual gambler - only betting if I see over +125 as the odds. Just don’t like betting the - odds essentially just using the free money from the various sites. Seems boring ha. Goal Parleys seem crazy fun for small amounts. I feel overwhelmed on all these sites with all the options, and feel like I know so little now. The only teams I feel any confidence betting on are teams I follow (Kraken, Butler, Bengals), but there’s so much out there. Right now I’m at the “use the free bets and odds boosters and make it the $25 I deposited for each last.” Wife isn’t gonna be happy that I used the credit card and not the actually bank account. Didn’t realize it would cause a cash advance fee. Oops. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
One sneaky good bet lately has been the Nashville Predators scoring the first goal. Not sure if this is national or simply a special viewing area prop but the Preds as bad as they have been do tend to score first. They did it again tonight. I know because Penn Station give out free subs whenever the Preds score first. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
