Offered Carlos Johnson a top 100. Looks like he is a do it all kind of Draymond Green player. Also sees the floor incredibly well for a big guy and has deceptively good handles. Interesting prospect as guys like him can allow you to play really small or really big. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
Carlos has had some interaction with Markeese playing in the Grand Rapids area. Not sure how much, but they have been in scrimmages together up there. Lots of talent in that region - historically a MSU dominated recruiting area.
Based on what I remember from Markeese's videos, they seem to be similar types of players. Do others who have seen Markeese play, see it the same way?
It's still early, but doesn't look like MSU has shown interest yet, which could help our chances here. WVU was his first high major offer back in June. Now us. And then supposedly visiting UM soon.
If this guy gets to 6'8, we might find the "big bad boys" getting involved aka Duke, Kentucky. I love his motor. I think he would be a fan favorite from day one. Like a Chrabascz on steriods.
Makes sense UM would be close by, one has to assume Jordan and Meyer are getting the same regional intel as Beilein's guys are getting. Izzo has been late on some of these West Michigan kids the last few years - seems he is focused more "Nationally" these days. I also wonder sometimes if height and weight are such a focus that basketball IQ isn't being given enough priority.
I had a bird whisper in my ear he's a butler lean. Even over the Michigan schools. It screams MSU so I'm not sure if I believe it or not, tough competition there. Allegedly though he really, really likes Butler. Shrug...hard to imagine beating those two out for someone but that's the word out of Michigan.
God this would be an unbelievable get. He's one of my favorites. His motor is elite Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Butler Hoops mobile app
It's going to happen sooner or later. Might as well start beating them now AND later! Sent from my SM-G930V using Butler Hoops mobile app
Beating out the home state schools who want this kid would be a monster step in the right direction for the program. Long way to go but I like the feeling I'm getting that we're at least in it.
