His 15/16 dominance was some of the best I’ve seen. But I think he is done.

There was a time if the Cubs scored an early when he was pitching I really believed the game was over.

I’m going to get it on here for this comment, but…

I remember the arguments on here with Jared and Dawgs2014 and all the Analytics dudes who love the Cubs about how he was “the best pitcher ever” and I said, “No, he’s a complete flash in the pan”.

Dude was mediocre to decent his whole career and had one really good run for like 1.5 years, then he went back to being the average pitcher he is. Ppl were telling me he was way better than Kershaw or Scherzer or Verlander, and it was so obvious he wasn’t.

Anyway… taking my victory lap. Arrieta sucks.

And I’m not a Cubs hater - I’m always happy for my friends when they do well.

Your dictionary must have a different definition of complete flash in the pan than mine.
Never said he was the best pitcher ever, but was certainly better than an average pitcher. 281 games, 115 wins, and for 4 years with the Cubs was one of the best pitchers in baseball, going 64 and 29, with a couple of no hitters and some big performances in the playoffs.

    I mean from 2014-2017 he had a 2.67 era in 751 innings.

If as a baseball fan you don’t think that’s an elite run, I have to assume bias because that’s just an irrational take.

If you consider Arrieta a "flash in the pan," I don't want you cooking my steak...

On a serious note, it's a bummer. But hopefully the rebuild only lasts a couple season and maybe by that time the Dodgers won't be stacked

This is quite a line. Very nice.

Sent from my iPhone, so it’s probably not written all that well
