Butler hosts DePaul on Saturday.

Two weeks ago, a 14 point victory in Chicago came on the heels of a defeat of Creighton at Hinkle and the confidence was high (and some of us posters were high as well, talking about a tournament bid).

After that game, the team has suffered losses at Connecticut, home against X, and at Marquette. In those three games, the Dawgs have had flashes of brilliance and promise. But not enough to get the W.

DePaul tends to cure a lot of issues. And at Hinkle, I am hoping the Dawgs can put together at least 20 good minutes and not have to figure out how to get out of a 20 point deficit.

Mimosas will be flowing. Found a dynamite spot a little north of me. Crabapple Tavern. $4 Mimosas and bloodies and the mimosas are in a full white wine glass with maybe a pinch of OJ with an OJ slice (enter your Nicole Brown Simpson Jokes here). And the food is amazing.

Maybe we can get a W and it will be a happy drunk saturday vs a normal sad butler bball drunk.

 

Hoping- a continuation of the last 8 minutes @ Marquette.
Probable - a continuation of the year long struggle to make shots.

It will be a disappointment if Harris and Tate don’t get extended play. They both put excitement into that normally grind the shot clock offense.

Let the stable loose...let the colts run when opportunity presents itself. Hodges makes this even more critical to exploit now. We can get a helluva lot more open looks or less impeded drives to the basket if we run when the opportunity presents itself. You can see the players are frustrated the coaching prohibits such.

 

This game is going to be a tough one to watch. It will be like watching two turds floating around in the toilet bowl. Hopefully, Butler comes out ready to play and doesn't spot DePaul a twenty point first half lead. LaVall needs to tell JMM that it's time to transfer. I heard the University of Indianapolis is looking for a big man.

Not much info out there yet, but from what I've seen it looks like it opened around Butler -3.5.

 

You will all be happy to know that I have to teach workshops all weekend and will be unable to post my stupid rantings on here during the game.

Butler -5.5 on BetMGM. Tempting cuz I think Dawgs win, but just don't see them capable of blowing anyone out - even DePaul.

Man that's tough. The way we've been playing getting them to win by 6 seems like a lot. But...we waxed them without Hodges on their home court. Staying away from it but a nice, easy cover would be a welcomed weekend treat.
