Beat me to it. He'd be another one-year plug and play and his 3PT shooting took off last half of the year.

Hunter is an excellent defensive player also.

Would be worth encouraging him to take the drive down I 65.

And after years in West Lafayette how could you not be geeked to move to Indy?

Actually would be a homecoming as he’s from Indy. Watched him play his junior year and sat with Terry Johnson who was there scouting. And parked next to Michael Lewis and Tim Miles who were doing the same. Funny that TJ ended up coaching him after all.

His dad had an account here, used to post here and there. It came down to Purdue and Butler so there’s a chance, but of course the staff has changed.

Hunter is also the all-time leading scorer in Marion County history. That list includes some great players.

I’m certainly not a basketball expert, but aren’t they different players? Isn’t Phin more of a 1 and Hunter is a combo guard?

I like Hunter’s shooting and D, and he’s very quick as well.

Hunter would be a very solid veteran addition. I'm definitely on board there.

Looks like his minutes declined every year after his sophomore year. Can see why he wants to transfer.

Every time I watched Purdue, Hunter wasn't flashy, but was always rock solid and reliable. He should have had much more of a role at Purdue, and I think he could thrive on next year's team as a veteran leader.

He maybe better suited as a 2 but Purdue definitely used him as their point guard.

No doubt, but that’s just not where he fits/what he does well.

At 6'4" and an athletic lefty, Hunter is more than capable of handling the point guard position.

He has the same assist rate as Nze. He’s a very good player! He’s not a point guard.

Sent from my iPhone, so it’s probably not written all that well

I was pretty underwhelmed by Purdue's point guards all season (don't consider Ivey one). I think it's part of the reason they fell short in the tourney to St. Pete's. That backcourt outplayed them.

You've got to have a guy who can manage tempo and help run the offense.

It was uncharacteristic for Purdue, who always seems to have pretty good ones.

I was careful not to say Hunter is a PG. I do believe he can handle those duties though. It could be totally inconsequential if BU has no interest.

Definitely a smart move. Let's hope it's mutual when BU calls Hunter.

If you are going to go the combo guard route, Eric Hunter seems a little more obvious
