Jeez. Oden is massive.

 

Just watched a bunch of his highlights on YT. I was impressed with how he was able to find his way to the rim and finish strongly and creatively. Also saw him throw some pretty sweet passes. Perhaps not the most athletic as I didnt see any attempted dunks when in transition. Seemed to be shooting the ball from his chest which could be problematic. Reminds me of Lukocious in many ways.

According to his 247 page, we're his only official visit. DePaul is the only other high-major offer on the table. I'm thinking he wouldn't be a bad consolation prize if we can't land Booker or some of the other highly-rated guys we've offered lately.

I saw him play at the Adidas Circuit and was pretty impressed with ability to get to the paint. His shot wasn’t falling the day I was there but you can tell he has the confidence and form to be a solid college shooter. I think I’d prefer Garwey to him but it’s close and I’d be fine with either

Big weekend from Bizjack. I *believe* both Thad and MoJo were there on at least Friday, but don't have complete confirmation on that (at least someone from Butler was in attendance for sure). He doesn't appear to be getting much buzz on this forum, but he would be a really strong addition to the backcourt; does a lot well, especially things Butler needs a bit more of with Hunter set to exhaust eligibility after this season.

 

I am very high on this kid, seems like a big time scorer and shooter and maybe it’s just a gut feeling but I feel like we are in the lead for him right now

Based on what I’ve read and seen of him, I am super high on Finley. Looks like a great scorer and pretty good shooter, most importantly, with an awesome motor. (Seems like he’s very gracious too!) I’d absolutely love to land this kid. Looks like we may be in decent shape for him too.

Bizjack is also a nifty passer.

 

Any breakdown of his game? I saw in Lukas's article on the visit that he hit a certain number of 3s and shot 77% from the line, but no stats on FG%, 3 pt%, etc. I saw Finley said he wants to work on his mid-range, and someone else said he gets into the paint fairly frequently.

Okay, I kind of like this kid, he had Greg Oden go by the rim and asked if he could touch it while standing and then went and tried to dunk on him (he missed). Pretty funny.

FWIW: I've done a bunch of recruiting interviews in recent years both with guys who committed to Butler and those that didn't. He was a really good interview during a very busy part of his summer. Glowing character reviews from everyone as well. The fit here is extremely clear, in my opinion. We'll see how it plays out, of course.

 

For those who can't access the David Woods IndyStar story, a few highlights:

• Bizjack is 6-3, 170. Rivals 4-star (114th); 247Sports 3-star (152nd).
• Came to Butler's attention through Maurice Joseph, who was recruiting him at Richmond before becoming AC at Butler. Says he is hearing most from Butler, Richmond, Utah, and St. Louis. [Note not in story: per 247, Bizjack also has offers from Wisconsin, DePaul, Stanford, SMU, TCU, GW, and others.]
• Last high school season, he averaged 25, 5, and 4 for a 24-10 team in Texas. Shot 30% (77-255) on threes.
• Butler also has offered DeShawn Harris-Smith from Fairfax, VA. Four-star, ranked 122nd by 247Sports. From the same high school as AT.
• Butler "pursuing" another DMV product: 6-8 Amani Hansberry (131st).
• Re summer tour, first of Butler's allowable 10 full practices is July 11. Exhibition games are August 4, 5, 9, and 10. Opponents not yet determined.
• All 13 players are on campus and worked camps. Bates is not yet cleared for 5-on-5 workouts after shoulder surgery.
• KB was first-team all-league in Germany last season. He is rehabbing from an abdominal injury and won't play in the NBA summer league.

 

Don't love only 30% from three. Seems like quantity over quality in that regard.

 

A fair critique, although Bizjack's shot looks to be pure and the quick trigger release is positive.

 

Yea, think the shot is good, just has to learn to be efficient HS he has to deal with a bunch of things being the focus, I believe he shot much higher in AAU. Either way, he's definitely a threat out there

 

No offense to Lavall, but I detested the fact that he was way too lenient with his players' shot selections. We can rest assured the low percentage 3s and heat checks will be kept to a minimum under Thad. That should help the entire team and Bizjack (assuming he commits).
