Finley Bizjack - 2023 Combo Guard (Verbal)

Seeing Finley rising up the ranks, post commitment, is certainly deserving of some notice. The fact that he's only our 3rd ever top 100 rated recruit is utterly absurd and has to change in a big big way going forward. UConn 4th and X 12th nationally with their 2023 classes.

Finley’s rise post-signing means he’s probably a top 50 player in reality. That never happens. Glad to know that he’s finally getting the notice he deserves.

“He’s one of the best because he can really shoot it, and he can really drive it,” said Thomas, who’s coached NBA Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, five-star Baylor freshman Keyonte George and Stanford standout Harrison Ingram. “I’ve coached some of the best, I’ve had a lot of elite scorers. But with the way he does it, he ranks up at the top.”

Hate to put too much pressure on a kid, but we need him to be a day-one contributor to have any hope next season, unless we pull a stud PG transfer. Even so, I'm tired of waiting for freshmen to make an impact. The Big East has freshmen every year who look like they belong and can make an impact right away.

 

I pray every night he doesn't ask to be released from his commitment.

 

Since just before the Final Four runs and up to 2020-21 season, we always had at least one player that you could give the ball to, say "go get a bucket," and feel confident that we'd come away with points. We haven't had that player since Kamar graduated, but I think Bizjack can be one of those players. It'd be unfair to ask him to shoulder the majority of the scoring load (as in, we probably need another scorer from the transfer portal), but he should at least give us more of a scoring threat than we have today.

Well he's far from the only ones who's been a downer on this board the last few months

 

Being down on the program is one thing. Suggesting Finley and his family are here to get released from his commitment is another. Just disgusting.

 

You don’t let people know you’re coming on social media if you’re intention is to get released.
