Any recent intel on where butler likely stands with Flory?

 

Wish I knew something. Who knows in the world of NIL and how each kid values that. Now here's a kid that you tell that if he commits to BU he will be your starter at the 4 or 5 from day 1 when he arrives on campus. The only time he wouldn't start is if he is injured or if his play is or becomes a detriment to the the team or if someone on the roster just flat beats him out. As thin as this roster is (he should be able to see that) and as good as Flory has become at Kokomo, what are the chances of that happening? No "promise" other than the job is his to lose. On the other hand, you would never "promise" minutes to someone like Hunter. In spite of all the speculation, I really hope Matta didn't do that. But then how do you explain what has happened to the minutes at the point this year? Makes no sense. Hell, I'd rather the reason be that Hunter is Matta's "love child" other than he is fulfilling some misguided promise to a overrated player clearly in over his head, and exhibits it every game.

He was at the IU gm tonight.

 

Flory and Kokomo will face undefeated Ben Davis in the 4A state final next weekend. I will likely be in attendance, as I have an angelic family member who teaches at BD.

 

Look for Butler coaches at the game. If at least one is not there, that tells us we are not being considered. I know they’ve (NIL Board) have been working on NIL $’s for him.

Wouldn’t say we’re out of it if not there. Much different than watching at AAU or HS event. Coaches don’t have the same access at finals. Sure, they can tell the player they were watching but not the same impact as chatting up the player or parents after the game.

I’ve heard that the word around Kokomo is that those are the leaders but I don’t know that any team is out of it completely.

 

Certain people are but not everyone.

 

Flory Bidunga is the most athletic big out of Indiana since Shawn Kemp.
