Sucks that he could not finish with Brad. Too many options for the ball with the Celtics now. Hopefully he goes to a winning team and not a rebuild.

I'm not sure the Celtics made the right decision here. They were a significantly better team once Gordon returned to the bubble and that wasn't him at 100%. I have no doubt that they would have won the East if they had a healthy Hayward for the whole series. Now maybe if they get a defensive big who can stretch the floor in a sign and trade then it's different, but solely letting him walk would not be a good choice in my opinion.

 

This was Gordon's decision, not the Celtics. And I would be surprised if he walked away from $34 million guaranteed unless he had a really good idea how this was going to play out.

Pacers going to have to do a sign and trade w/ the C's in order to get Gordon bc they don't have any cap room... most obvious candidates are Myles Turner (phenomenal contract) and Dougie McBuckets (great, expiring contract) bc allegedly Hayward wants 4yrs $25M... if I'm Kevin Pritchard, there's no way I make that trade without Boston sending me a whole lot more assets.

Getting 4 years and $100 mil is the ONLY way I can see opting out there really making sense.

Also kind of a fun fact-as of right now only 9 guys in NBA history have made $100 million more than GH which is kind of a crazy thing to think about. Now granted that number will change by the time he collects that money if he does, but still, crazy to think about.

Kinda depressing reading the Pacers are still paying Monte Ellis annually more than I'll make in a lifetime even though he hasn't played in years.
