With the season under a week away, I thought I'd start a new thread. I have attached links below to each of my preseason player breakdowns that have already been written (I'm still working on the breakdowns for the players that aren't listed below). Some are already free reads, some are currently patron-only but will become free in the coming days - as noted below.

I appreciate all of the support on my work that the board has given me and I wanted to have a way to organize my pieces for those that want to read rather than plugging them in random threads when they come out.

Just like last year, I'm planning on writing pre and post-game pieces for every Butler game. I am planning on making these pieces patron-only for the first 24 hours or so before being free (for pregame, this means day of event). I will also hopefully integrate more in-season analysis now that I have my own Butler-only site to work with, though those will likely be kept patron-only. I'm also happy to take suggestions for pieces that people would either like to know more about or want to read about.

I will still have my Top 25s and Big East power rankings like last year as well, but those will be over at Heat Check CBB where I do my national stuff.

I don't mean this thread to feel self-absorbed, just wanted to have a convenient spot for people who want to read. As always, I'm available for any questions and/or comments, as well as suggestions, and I'm looking forward to covering another season of Butler hoops. Almost time to get started on the first game preview for the year! Thank you for all of your support!

Player Breakdowns (I included publish date since some are far a while back and things might have changed in my opinions since then. $$ indicates that it is still patron-only at the moment.)

I appreciate all the hard work and effort covering the Bulldogs, Lukas. This helps give us a designated thread to find your content.
    Keep up the great work!

I'm driving home for Thanksgiving today, but game preview for WMU will go up Monday for patrons-only, Tuesday night for free. That is my plan, at least.

Update: Tuesday for preview, Wednesday morning for free. (working on getting the last few player breakdowns done before Wednesday as well. Takes time to put together the clips when you are disorganized. I'll have a better set-up for next preseason.)

Second Update: Article has arrived. https://www.patreon.com/posts/44270450

Bruh...haven't you heard? You aren't allowed to go home and see/be with family on thanksgiving. It's way too dangerous. I'm reporting you to the corona super coalition. Your family and your holidays be damned...you cannot have thanksgiving in any form other than by Zoom this year. Damn you, Lukas.

I hope it's awesome and you get a great visit in....enjoy it my man.

I've said it before, but I'm really enjoying the video clips to show your points. I know the competition level Harris faced has been noted, but he looks like he is driving and scoring against some good D.

Thanks! They take a fair amount of time to put together (partially because the gifs are limited to 15 seconds) so I appreciate the comment that you enjoy them. I was kinda an idiot and left my flash drive of full-game footage clips in Indy when I drove home this weekend so I had to reclip a bunch from highlights but the same points come across.

Harris played in the DMV - he has faced elite competition over the last few years. His conference included Hunter Dickinson (Michigan), Earl Timberlake (Miami), Trevor Keels (five-star 2021), Jeremy Roach (Duke), and a bunch of other really good players. Not to mention he played EYBL. He's been tested. I've said for a while I think he's the most college-ready of this group and I stand by that. We'll see on Wednesday and beyond if I'm right :p

I agree with you, but Cole's is right there on the college readiness front, both of them I expect to adjust very quickly

Really liked the article. I want to say upfront that I love Aaron, he's an all-time Dawg for me, and I hope he comes back for another year. If he wanted to be a coach some day, I want him on the Butler bench. But........it'll be a welcome sight to have someone who can play pure point and shoot threes. The floor spacing will be different than when either AT or KB ran/run point.

I think we have a couple of entry-level positions open on the staff...

Yes! Best case is AT comes back for another year and then continues his impact on the program from the bench as a coach. To have our future guards mentored by him would be amazing. There is a huge difference between being able to execute a certain level of play on the floor and be able to teach others to do the same. AT seems to have that ability to not only understand nuance, but selfless enough to teach the others around him.

A little late-night posting alert. As the season tips off in under 24 hours, this piece is already free. I am hoping to get the Myles Wilmoth breakdown up in the morning as well. Breakdowns on Christian David and Bo Hodges will be released upon hearing when they are cleared for full action (David) or have received their waiver (Hodges), respectively. There will be several patron-only pieces during the year (just a heads up).

Myles Wilmoth breakdown has been posted. Not having my own clips with me (flash drive left in Indy) for this one was a bit challenging as there aren't many recent highlight tapes. Did the best I could with clipping from those. As the season tips off later today, this piece is already free.

With another week until the Dawgs take the court again, I'll fill the void by writing a Hark's Bark lol. Shoot over any questions that you have and I'll answer them in the piece.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd love an update on how Christian David's recovery is going.

I’m with you on CD’s recovery. Also, do you feel it’s likely the NCAA gives all transfers immediate eligibility? I think most of us expect BE play to be tough sledding for the Dawgs this year but certainly adding Christian David & Bo Hodges should help.
