Video discussing his recruitment. Mentions Butler watching him.

RE: Jackson Davis - 2014 Forward

It looks like Jackson Davis averaged nearly 15 points/10 rebounds/3 blocks last season. He did have almost 4 turnovers a game, but its still an impressive line for a freshman. Looks like he shot just under 50% from inside the arc. He did hit 7/18 3s so he isn't shooting them much now but it seems the potential might be there for him to expand his game that far. He did shoot only 63% from the line though. Obviously at under 200 pounds he is going to need to put on some weight but looking at his stats and all of the major interest he appears to be a top level recruit.

May just be looking into this too much, but he specifically mentions every other coach by name and then just says "Butler coaches". I wonder if it was just one or multiple assistants there instead of Brad.

I'm not questioning his effort to give face time during recruiting because I'm sure he's stretched thin as it is, but it seems like a lot of times when recruits are being targeted that it's the assistants that are getting a lot of face time, especially early on in the process. Sure it's just a function of how Butler targets recruits. I would think there would be some benefit for Brad himself getting face time with kids early and often though, even if Butler doesn't offer them until after their sophomore season.

Am told Lafayette '14 star Jackson Davis will play for Louisville Magic 17s this weekend in Bloomington. Should be teamed with Derek Willis

I watched Davis vs Gateway Sat and he was non descript. Louisville Magic have loads of talent though and he is playing up a grade. They lost to EG in the Finals evidently today. I wonder if davis contributed much more as the tourney moved along?

Magic lost that game to gateway BTW. Derek Willis did very little. The Hatten kid is a little overweight.

2014 PF Jackson Davis is a powerful, take no nonsense beast in the post. He attacks (not grabs) rebounds. Much bigger now. Goggles work too!

ND is spot on about Davis' body. It's powerful and college ready. Not sure if Davis has much of a mid range or outside shooting game. I would compare Davis alot to Hainje.

Louisville Magic are in the 16U at Adidas Invt, but Davis played up a grade at the AMC in Bloomington. Magic are not listed in the 17U. He could possibly be playing on the 16U team. They are in one of the Super Pools.

Watched a little of Jackson Davis yesterday. I would be curious to know what some of you think about him , if you have seen him. At times I think he could be really good and at times he just makes really bad plays and doesn't make an impact on the game. He's probably a legit 6'7 and solidly built. I would compare him alot to Rylan Hainje.

Davis is a real mystery to me. With his up and down play I would think he could fall in the recruiting pecking order some. His AAU team beat the living crap out of the Compton Magic though.
