Hayes was Gaga after visiting Texas. A good choice for the young man. Glad it wasn't X or Kentucky.

Tough to compete with big time football, even bad football.

Austin is a muchhhhhh better city than Cincinnati. If you’re gonna leave the Midwest can’t argue with it. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him on the transfer wire down the line though still lotta questions

If I were a top recruit I think I might consider waiting on committing until the dust settles in this FBI investigation. There is a lot of time before they have to make a decision and there is so much more that will be known.

Agree. Only reason I can see to jump to commit right now is if you're worried your offer may expire if you wait around. Maybe that's the case at Texas, but it's definitely the case at UK - if he wants UK, he has to commit yesterday.

It's UK or Texas, just not sure which. At least it's not X.

Jaxson ranked 26 in Sports Illustrated pro prospect rankings. Props to JCA2013 and Insane Dawg for realizing how good this kid was.

He has come a long way in a short time. Would have been fun to watch as a Dawg! Definitely would have to respect the roll on the pick and roll with him!

He matched JB's 6 for 6 shooting in last outing.

I did not see this coming. I was super high on him, but thought he was a two year project at least! It's crazy how fast some guys can develop.

I had noticed Hayes while as a junior and mentioned BU might want to take a look at him in the recruiting notes. I was following Kyle Young when I noticed Moeller being number 1 in the rankings. LJ made a play but he chose Texas. He was known more for football but his skills have developed.

Was a one and done. I would like to think we were close on landing this kid until the last month of his recruiting process when he blew up and everyone offered him.

I would like to believe that we will be able to land recruits that do blow up.

The only upside, I can see, to LaVall sticking with a system that didnt fit his current roster is if it allows him to recruit a higher level of talent that can flourish in it. If it works, then the ugliness of the past two years was worth it. If not, well... Either way, we need a few pieces to fit THIS year and to see some momentum on the 2020 class, for sure.

The debate is: do you adjust your style to fit your roster, or do you implement your style and use it to recruit your vision? Clearly, LaVall is the latter and Barry had to be aware of this when he hired him.
