    Love the attitude:

"They didn’t just promise me a starting spot. They told me that if I come in and I work, and I do my responsibilities, I’ll play. I’d rather have it that way. I don’t want it given to me. I want to work for everything.”

If he can hit the weights, eat well and work on his shot he could be a crowd favorite.

he has a real chance to be a special kind of player, he seems to have the work ethic to get himself in the shape he needs to be by next season. we talk so much about the other players but he might be the sneaky Kamarish type of recruit of next year's class, full disclosure I love all of our incoming players.

I believe you are referring to Emmanuel Mudiay. Went to China instead of SMU.

Brandon Jennings did the same in Italy.

:) Well, good for Jerald. He's staying with his commitment to BU. Even more excited to see him play here now.

Good for you, Jerald. As we have proven time again over the last 20 years, going to Butler is more than just about who is the coach, but is a culture. AD will make a good hire and Butler will not miss a beat. I am really sorry to see coach Holt go. I am looking forward to see you play this season

Let us hope the other recruits feel the same, but who knows, Young and Thompson will be keys.

Solid decision by Butler to stay and even better decision by Butler to become Gillens-Butler. May JGB forever live...

Good read. Was coming here to post it myself. I guess I got a late jump.

Definitely one of my favorites now. Hope he can develop a lot in the off season and see meaningful minutes next year.

Perfect example of how guessing who might transfer is sketchy at best (unless it’s coming from a close source). Each player’s experience at BU goes deeper than how much court time they currently get. JGB seems like a kid who has faced challenges before and came out on top. Impressive young man.

i wouldn't be surprised to see him play meaningful minutes next year. Perseverance is not an issue.

Work hard this offseason and the rest will take care of itself.
