Headed down to Martinsville tonight to watch Bloomington North v. South in the Sectional Title match. Excited to see Roberts play.
https://basketballrecruiting.rivals...ts-rounding-into-form-starting-to-get-noticed Seems like he's one we should have a solid chance of getting. He fills in a position with little to no depth after Bo's departure.
Leaving this here. In combination with my post in the 22 Roster thread, it seems that the staff is moving ahead assuming at least one free scholarship will be available. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/rec...rd-j-q-roberts-navigating-high-major-options/ TDH: Who are some of the other schools you are talking to right now? JQR — “Iowa, I’ve been talking to Coach (Sherman) Dillard and Coach (Fran) McCaffery a lot. Butler, I’m going to talk to Coach Thad Matta in a couple days. I’ve been talking with Coach (Dave) Ragland from Butler as well. Recently I got a call from Ohio State. I’ve been talking to Virginia Tech recently, and also Notre Dame a little bit. Marquette was my first official visit and I’ve talked a lot with them as well.”
He's in 2023 so a scholarship being used on Rudi or EHJ wouldn't matter since they both would be 1-year guys. Good to see we are still involved here though.
I feel it's likely we will have two schollies available for 2023, now that we have Hunter. Sent from my SM-G977U using Butler Hoops mobile app
Agreed. My point was that I’d doubt they’d use that last scholarship on a multi year player unless he was special. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
Even though the great uniform is far from settled, would it be fair to start a conversation about preferred walk-ons?
I think it’s best to keep Luke Brown totally out of the conversation . Sent from my iPad using Butler Hoops mobile app
I watched JQ play at the Adidas circuit in Indy and his athleticism and defensive ability definitely stood out. He was the main defender on Rayvon Griffith when I was watching and he matched up well with him. Offensively he was definitely raw but I could see him turning into a nice piece on both sides if he develops his handle and shot a little more.
