Daaaaaamn don't hurt 'em Kelan!
Kelan looked really good in the 13 minutes or so he played. Just as good as anyone else on the Timberwolf team.
They've got a two-way spot open. Hopefully he will be able to snag it!
He probably was offered a few two-ways coming out of school. I’d assume he makes more $$$ overseas than being on a two-way. He needs an actual roster spot.
With that said, give my guy a contract!
I think I remember LJ talking to him about urgency to assist rebounding as a Senior. As he did that yr, he continues to be awesome at it. Played great
Also had another rebound and coast to coast lay in
I really like the Minnesota Timberwolf.
If Kelan gets NBA contract, it won't be with T-Wolves. They are packed with young SF/SG: Okogie, Bates-Diop and Culver. Hope he catches on somewhere in the League though. Looks like a totally different player than at Butler with his improved defense, rebounding and conditioning.
Kelan looked better than Okogie and Culver.
Kind of tough to say on Culver since he hasn't played in Summer League yet. Regardless, Martin not replacing Top 10 pick. And Okogie is really good.
I read somewhere that the Wolves coach is planning on playing a system with a point guard, 3 wings, and a center, so even with Okogie, Bates-Diop, Culver, Wiggins, Layman, Bell, and Graham, they would probably want their second two-way guy to be a wing in case of injuries.
Crazy that Max Strus is starting for Celtics and already got a two way deal with them
Kelan is good enough to be in the NBA.
Strus could have really helped Butler and wanted to transfer here instead of DePaul. Holtmann did not offer.
5 pts and 2 rebs since checking in a few minutes ago
Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
KM 19 points and 3 rebounds in 10 minutes in first half.
KM 23 points and five rebounds in 20 minutes. He has been dominant.
Obviously it's not a surprise to any of us but it really is clear that he's an NBA-level guy. Summer league isn't NBA competition but players who end up being good in the league often just look head and shoulders above the rest of the competition, like it's not even worth their time to play. That's how Kelan is playing for Minnesota.
Like a Boss! Lol
Had the player of the game and interview at the end. Love how he attacks the ball once there is a missed shot. He has been great. Might start tomorrow night with Okogie sidelined.
