Kelan gets 11pts in 12 minutes in his debut with the Pacers. Sent from my SM-G965U using Butler Hoops mobile app
Enjoyed watching Kelan and again last night, although I thought he played better on Saturday. The game Saturday was a tough watch though. There were a combined 35 turnovers in the first half alone.
Kelan makes the final cut, will begin the season on the roster. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tonyea...d-finalize-roster-for-season/?sh=125c3ec829b2
Wasn’t he always going to sell the final cut though with the contract he signed? I had heard 2 years 3.3 mill Honestly just curious if that was truly the case Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
Only half of first year guaranteed. First year is 1.45 million so 1/2 of that is $723k. None of 2nd year is guaranteed
Thank you for clearing that up Never read the details, makes sense now Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
Well Kelan got his 2nd basket as a Pacer and got 6 minutes of action in a non blowout game. He might’ve gotten even better news today with the trade of Oladipo and his $21M salary for Caris Alavert who is making $17M this year I think the Pacers can keep Kelan the entire year without incurring luxury tax penalty for exceeding the cap. They were going to be just over if they paid Kelan the entire $1.45m this year hence why only half was guaranteed but now I think even if they keep him for the entire year and pay him the entire 1.45M that they will still be under the cap/luxury tax
Pacer lost last night to the Nets, but Kelan got two minutes on the court - he made the most of it, scoring 3 points and grabbing 2 rebounds in those two minutes.
Yeah, seems like he's only been getting mop-up minutes so far, which is a little disappointing. Especially while Warren and LeVert are out, you'd think he'd be able to get more of a chance at decent bench minutes.
While no one was paying attention, Kelan played his best game of the season. Season best in minutes (15 non scrub too), points (9), and +/- (+15). With all their injuries, the Pacers needed all of it in its OT win over the Spurs.
I was paying attention. I watched the whole game. The momentum completely shifted when Kelan came in and knocked in those 3-pointers in the third quarter. Fun to watch.
Nice to see Kelan get some meaningful minutes. Would be great if he could carve out a 9-10th man role for the rest of the season and collect the 1.7 to 1.8 million that is non-guaranteed for next year.
Its great to see that Kelan has made good use of all his opportunities - both here and in Minneapolis. He is showing great patience, and has not let frustration get in his way - that's a lot of maturity for such a young guy - I'm biased, but I'm thinking he might just pull into a meaningful role soon.
Kelan put in 4 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in 11 minutes in the Pacer's narrow win against Atlanta last night. His minutes and quality of those minutes, have been slowly increasing over the past two or three weeks.
They're tanking without going full-tank, so a lot of people are getting minutes they normally wouldn't. It's good for K though, he has shown he deserves some run.
