It also creates potential opportunities for him to continue to prove himself and work his way up. Sent from my SM-G977U using Butler Hoops mobile app
Does anyone have a Martin pacers jersey or so they even sell them?? Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
The answer is no. I checked here: https://store.nba.com/indiana-pacer...ageSize=72&pageNumber=3&sortOption=TopSellers There is one for Sumner - but nothing yet for Kelan. I will for sure buy one when it appears - even at $75
Does the fact that the Pacers released Stanley bode well for Martin keeping a roster spot? Sent from my SM-G977U using Butler Hoops mobile app
It probably doesn't help or hurt. The Star made it sound like the move is part of an effort to clear roster space for a third PG.
I bought one off the Pacers site last Xmas for my brother. Under the custom jerseys he was an option at that time.
I'm perplexed as to why Kelan wasn't on the summer league roster. Sent from my iPad using Butler Hoops mobile app
Kelan’s contract became guaranteed last weekend. He is guaranteed 1.7 million this year even if the Pacers cut him. They had to waive him by last weekend or this year became fully guaranteed.
I was a little surprised, too, but there is a max of 4 veterans that a team can send, and at this point Kelan qualifies as a vet for Summer League purposes. The Pacers four vets in Las Vegas are Goga Bitadze, Amidah Brimah, Oshae Brissett and Cassius Stanley.
Actually Kelan and the Pacers agreed to push back his guarantee date a few weeks, so it still isn’t guaranteed as of yet. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app https://www.forbes.com/sites/tonyea...p-flexibility-with-a-pair-of-strategic-moves/
Well I hadn’t saw that they had pushed back the date as I believe original date was August 7 or 8 and when I saw nothing through August 9th stating that there was an agreement to push back the date then I assumed that they had committed to him. It stinks but hopefully they can create that wiggle room. I’m assuming they are still shopping a trade for someone else. If not hopefully someone will sign him to a deal as I think between what he did in Minnesota (2 years ago on his two-way contract, and with Pacers toward the end of last season) that he’s proved he is an NBA caliber player somewhere between 9-15 on a roster depending on whether going to a playoff contending team or a lower level team. All said for a recruit in 2013-2014 that had offers from St. Louis and eventually Butler to earn likely $2 Million playing basketball your first 3 years out of school isn’t too bad of a salary. GO KELAN!!!
Thank you for this I was concerned on what has been going on Happy to hear Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
Kelan had himself a game in Utah. Played most of the 4th qtr, led both teams in +/- with a +14, and scored 14 as the Pacers knocked off the Jazz. Sent from my iPad using Butler Hoops mobile app
