@zkeefer: Good to see former #Butler player @Kdmarshall23 (17 pts/8 reb) doing well in Japan. Always a great guy to talk to. http://t.co/AvYBhP92MW

Funny how our former beat writers do a better job covering Butler than the current one.

Apparently Khyle was released from the B-Corsairs back on 1/16. According to the link in 8 games he recorded 14.4ppg, 7.9rpg and 1.4apg. Doesn't seem like too shabby of a line. I admittedly know very little about the workings of overseas pro ball, but I'm always a bit shocked to see so much bouncing around and guys getting cut from teams in places where, to be frank, I would expect that they would be one of the better players. Again, that's probably ignorance on my part more than anything, but I just wonder what all is involved in these decisions? Could Khyle really not hang with a team made up of a couple other Americans and Japanese pros?

This article suggests that perhaps the waiver wasn't basketball related:

Did he sign with the Spurs' D-League team?

So was he waived because the Spurs had interest? Or did he just luck out afterwards

I wouldn't doubt that he asked for a release. Playing bball and living in Yokohama would be hell for most people. If he signed with the Spurs that is good. They don't sign just anyone.

I wish Khyle the best where ever he goes. He gave all of us some great times. I think of him and it makes me think of Duane Lightfoot--he gave us great moments. Duane waited for his turn and then did a great job--it was nice to see a team player. I hope he is doing well where ever he is now and whatever he is doing.

Hate to publicly contradict a child, but Marshall is one of my very least favorite Butler players ever.

I was never a huge fan either, but didn't have a particular reason I could pin it on. I'm just curious, can you elaborate on why he was "one of your very least favorite."
