right soooo ONLY kids that have been offered by the middle of one season prior to graduation year could possibly be of interest for consideration ? How’s about watch brown and if you still don’t think he’s Butler material maybe stick to the threads of the guys you think are ? I mean I’d prefer you stay here and offer relevant critique even if I disagree with it but if you’re mind is set maybe just don’t follow it would be a solid suggestion

 

Was not ...definitely ageee with that ...THATs why he ended up at bsu ...but starting as a frosh he will be a very very solid upperclassman player for them and Bumbalough and brown are very similar shooters with very similar range and size but do keep in mind brown is a better ball handler and creator and that’s saying something cause bumbalogh isn’t a slouch

 

You say that now. In a year or two he might. It's called development. If this was the case most grad transfers wouldn't be any good but they are.

 

Might he be good enough down the line? Maybe, but probably not. A guy like Jake LaRavia is someone to keep eyes on if we’re talking about transferring up.

Bumbalough is just too small and not athletic enough for major hoops. Was he good enough in HS to play for Butler or IU like you said? Absolutely not.

 

He wasn’t good enough to be an impact player as a freshman or sophomore particularly because of size but I wouldn’t have faulted a power 6 for taking him with the anticipation of either redshirting or serving a specialist ( shooter ) role until he’s an upperclassman ....it’s hard not to like you when you have the best avatar picture I’ve ever seen by the way and I agree with your emphatic point that size is an issue particularly for defense but I think Bumbalough will be able to compete against power 6 schools as an upperclassman and have success and I think brown is better suited to overcome or mask those same size deficiencies

 

Not athletic enough? Being athletic enough wasn't a problem of his. It was height and that isn't what some people make it out to be if you do other things well.

 

My god. Quit spamming this damn thread. We get it. You guys are a fan of Brown's. That's cool. But you fighting for his honor in this thread isn't gonna change anyone's mind nor get him recruited by Butler or any other school. Give it a rest.

 

Not buying it. You have been a member of the board for a whole 2 days and have 84 posts - all about, promoting and defending Luke. If you are not Luke, a friend of Luke or family of Luke then someone less charitable then I would suggest you are a stalker. In which case Luke should get a restraining order issued against you.

I have never seen Luke play. He may be the second coming of Gordon Hayward. It doesn’t change the fact that you are way overselling for someone that merely “knows”him by living in the same small town

I moved Luke Brown thread here since I agree with previous assessment that individual threads are generally reserved for players either with offer or with more concrete evidence that Butler is actively recruiting them. Should there be future interest from Butler a new thread can be made but the recruiting notes thread is more appropriate section to speculate about other high school players.

 

Sorry new on here I didn’t know that format requirement didn’t mean to cause an issue ...hopefully after this summer it could be formatted differently but likely not given the 2020 class commitments

 

Lol wow ...second coming of Gordon he is not ...certainly not the same type nor do I think that ceiling is reachable reasonably for all but the smallest sample size of recruits annually ....that being said I’m not a member of the brown clan and while I don’t vacation with them ( or peek on their windows ) I think the fam is generally ok with me ( no orders of restraint to date )....jokes aside I think you have a poor grasp for the community size here. The majority of the county is similarly excited and I think you’re twisting fandom into something odd or inappropriate ...Additionally not to say you’re exaggeration isn’t based partially in reality with regards to post percentage I would note for the record I have also posted on barnhizer , The Who you want thread which included folks other than brown , and I’ve tried to inject colson Montgomery into the conversation ( which I know now to do in the recruiting notes )...I attend all the Blackford games if you haven’t seen him play you should try to make it to one ...I’ll buy the popcorn olive branch for us to get past your stalker accusations

 

You mean like you’re complaining about our discussion or detracting him isn’t going to affect his recruiting ? Or any other recruit on this board in any thread or forum ? I mean I do t think I’m defending his honor I think I’m debating his merits ...are you attacking his honor ?

What’s your over under tonight ? I’m pumped ...oh not you in-particular but some others haven’t been a huge fan of mine ...I don’t mind any critical commentary but Blackfords game won’t get over till 9 so I won’t be live on the dawgs till about 10 ...I’ll update brown stats in this thread but please no one post any butler updates ...be humane in your attacks people

 

I grew up in a town similar in size as Blackford. The high school I went to had fewer students than Blackford. I currently live in a town smaller than Blackford. I have a damn good grasp of the size of the community. If you are merely a fan, then you are the one twisting fandom into something odd or inappropriate.

If you are family, it is cool. Just say so. When Lamar Norman posted on here about his son's recruitment process he was welcomed with open arms and we had good discussions with him. When things did not move forward with Butler and Jr signed with a different school, we wished him and his son well.

 

I’m not driving to Blackford county to watch Luke Brown. Not interested. I’m sure he’s a tremendous player and kid. I’m just sick of a message board I love having one user with 80+ posts in two days about a subject that is irrelevant to Butler basketball. You’re a fan of Luke. That’s great. Root your heart out for him but quit dragging down this board with endless posts about him. He’s not being recruited by Butler. Even if he were this would be overkill. I think you could add to the content around here but take a break from the Luke Brown subject. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Lol promise you I’m not family nor close friend ...your community is very different than mine ...anyone here that’s involved in sports or civics is like a second family. Part of the reason why I’ve never left I guess. I would hope you pull for your local teams and players passionately and I would further hope if you have had or get an exceptional one that you would take it up several notches from there. If you’re more a casual fan I respect that but I don’t think you should be judgmental of anyone that may be more passionate than yourself. Do you live within reasonable distance you could catch a game ? Like I told the other guy that hates my posting I’ll buy the olive branch extending pre game pizza so we can be friends ( other than the topic of Luke apparently )

 

I will delve into the other content and I appreciate you saying so ...i of course won’t be as passionate discussing other recruits as I wouldn’t feel nearly as qualified to do so ( tough to make a call if you haven’t seen someone regularly or at least a half a dozen times ). As far as dragging the board down we will still agree to disagree because my messsged were in a Luke brown thread you were free NOT to click on and the only way it could drag you down or in any way effect you is if you purposely clicked on it. Not sure if you’re even in the same general region but If you change your mind and can catch a Blackford game OR an IE platinum game this summer let me know I’ll still buy the pizza and I think you’d be more entertained than you think if your a fan of the butler brand of basketball
