A 2019 offer.
The video suggests outstanding footwork, balance, and feel for the game. These skills are usually difficult to teach, so I love LJ's first 2019 offer.
good news is that we are top 5 recruiting him hardest. bad news is that we seem behind (likely bc of coaching change). If LJ and staff can pull off something for the 2018 class they should get major, major credit because they aren't just late for 2018 but also for 2019.
Wonder if he is eligible to reclassify to 2018? Could stress the minutes that will be available once Kelan & Wideman are gone. Get him early before Kansas gets involved?
This seems like a kid that if we had the stability at the coaching staff that we could have a good shot at considering the other schools involved assuming programs like Kansas stay away, but right now there's so much uncertainty that it's at least going to take this year of doing well and another hard year of recruiting and relationship building before I think Butler will start seeing some of these kids go their way. So I'd say unless he's looking for immediate playing time pretty exclusively, then keeping him in the 2019 class is about the only way that Butler will see this end up with the desired result.
And there is the Kansas offer...
Well that was fun while it lasted, lol.
Is this the only 2019 that received an offer? There's only one? Weird. Shouldn't we be focusing more on establishing relationships w young, BE caliber recruits than a throwaway class hopefully filled with mostly grad transfers? I guess I expected more offers since LaVall has a great eye to spot talent based on his ability to offer before other programs. But on a serious note, why do ppl think there's been a lack of 2019 offers? Please don't say the rifle approach
That was how they did things at Michigan, they very rarely gave out early offers, not saying it will be the same as them, but might have a factor.
Here is the article on how they did recruiting at Michigan. I have a feeling they abandoned this for 2018 since they were late to the table, but it wouldn't surprise me if they went back to it in 2019
So this Malik Hall kid visited campus? Bc I'm fairly positive June 15th has occurred...
Nope, don't think Malik visited. Maybe Lavall or another assistant had prior connection and didn't feel the unoffical visit was necessary.
My response was alluding more to your question about lack of 2019 offers, and I think that ESPN article is what our recruiting approach might look like.
Here's what Michigan did... stole Trey Burke from us and rode him to a national championship game appearance.
Talk about tough competition for this kid.
