When he entered the portal this year, he stated on Twitter he has 2 years of eligibility left. Full stop.

Yeah I know for sure he is eligible next year, the debate was whether he’s eligible the year after, too. I haven’t heard that and was just making the point that I think it’s irrelevant even if he did have another year after that.

Obviously I’m hopeful he’ll play next year for us but it wouldn’t surprise me if he decided five years of college is enough and he is ready to try to climb onto an nba roster or head to Europe.

 

So I also may be brain dead and stupid. I haven’t seen a post on Manny declaring for the NBA draft? Are we just ignoring this?

Someone mentioned it in the Roster 23/24 thread, saying he is retaining eligibility and is in all likelihood coming back.

 

My understanding is that if you don’t maintain a B average within the graduate programs, you can’t continue.

Bates supposedly is no longer on campus. He is working with Tim Thomas ( supposedly a retired NBA player and agent) somewhere on the east coast to prepare himself for the draft.

 

I don’t think there is any “supposedly” in Tim Thomas being retired from the nba. Feel like it’s pretty safe to say that a dude who is 46 and 14 years removed from his playing career is definitely retired.

I hope to hear good things about his career in the future. I enjoyed watching his progression last year and was really hoping to watch him further blossom as a Dawg this year!
