Hey instead of spending 100 million on science building let’s use that to get a team jet, new practice facility, and much more. Cmon butler

You’re struggling with this whole butler forum thing, man. Take a break. Regroup. Come back in November.

Just tired of the bs science buildings when we should get top of the line practice facilities so we can get these recruits.

I must have been mislead.... I thought Butler was an academic institution that had student/athletes. Butler has been very successful without 5 star recruits and can continue to be successful with very good players that understand how to play the game and work as a team. That type of player cares about the academics and believe it or not, the investment in the School of Business and the Sciences will help recruit some incredible student athletes.

You should just cheer for IU. There's a section of their fanbase currently pissed off at the administration for allegedly spending BTN money disproportionately on the university as a whole instead of just the athletic department.

I say we sell everything but Hinkle and use the proceeds to form a semipro basketball team. No use for the academics

Anyone who knows anything about Butler Basketball, know's we are in the BE and can have such a foolish conversation, because of 1 recruit who chose Butler over Purdue and IU because we practiced early in the AM. Basically, if Butler was like every other school who puts athletics before academics, Hayward would have never chosen BU and can anyone on this board convince me Butler would still be in the BE today?

I hope PNR is a burner account for someone’s bad subconscious.

Have you even been in Gallahue in 50 years? Because if not, don’t worry it looks exactly the same (minus the chem lab equipment). That building is by far the ugliest thing on campus, assuming PnR’s hot takes have graduated

Gallagher reminds me of a building that I worked in at one time. That particular building was built by a company that was known for building jails. Cinderblock decor can only go so far.

And don’t get me started on Jordan Hall’s issues, which start with flooding stairwells in bad rainstorms. Hopefully those repairs do more than band aid the issue. I’ve heard people in tour group’s making negative comments.

These renovations ultimately benefit more students than the basketball team, so the priorities are correct. Athletics should hit up Gordon and Shelvin for some support of any future renovations for hoops. Richard Jefferson, for example, funded a major portion of a multi-purpose indoor practice facility for hoops and volleyball at the University of Arizona. He got the naming rights out of it.

Maybe if we built a casino on campus, it could pay for the whole program. We need a high profile donor to float this one by Barry and offer to put their name on it.

Shelvin probably isn’t as rich as some on this board. What has he made? 12-15M?

Btw...Pacers need a PG. 2 years/3M with team option for second year.

I see PnR’s point. 3-5M out of that 100+M would’ve been nice for the athletic department.

Butler is — and I cannot stress this enough — a school.
