a good tweet for some of my sad indie fans. genuinely not trying to be political, i just love the sufjan joke so much.
That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen today wish he would have a done a few more of those. One of my fave gigs was his Xmas show where he picked songs by spinning a giant wheel (he may have stolen that gag from Yo La Tango but still fun). My kids love dancing to the Xmas unicorn every holiday season. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Listened to the 36 from the Vault podcast this summer and made me go back and listen to a lot of the Dicks Picks. Lots of goodies but #12 June 74 had some insane jams. On YouTube check out theseventyseven and WallofSound who have uploaded some amazing stuff. Prob not as easy for to listen to while working though Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
One of the best perks to being a college athlete in Denver was we were given jobs as "Security" for concerts at Red Rocks. What it meant was that I got to see great concerts, confiscated beer and pot, and met many pretty girls.
This is very funny. As an FYI - Joey Clift completed the 50 state project started by Sufjan. You can check it out on SoundCloud in case anyone cared.
Been listening to a couple of newly released albums and enjoying them, so I thought I'd share. Charley Crockett is on a tear and has a new album out today of covers of James Hand songs. It's really strong. Also Mac Leaphart's new album reminds me a fair amount of John Prine, clearly an influence, with a sort of wry humor laced throughout strong narratives.
Thanks for this!! Listening to Mac leaphart now Had never heard of him Andres Osborne just put a great news album as well Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app

I'm glad you're enjoying it. It's definitely one of those albums where on first pass I was like "Hey, this is alright," and then I listened to it a few more times and really started to dig it a lot more.
So not sure if it’s been brought up but anything from James McMurtry is gold!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
