Just a note on Minnesota. Richard Pitino currently has SIX shooting guard offers out for the 14 class. Hasn't offered Macura yet. Most assume that will happen in July when some of these other kids start picking other schools etc....I wonder how Macura feels about being at best 7th in line (at his home state school to boot) ?? If I was Macura that would have my attention......along with the fact that Richard Pitino only has a couple of years experience as a HC and at Florida International too....

Personally I think Minnesota made a huge mistake firing Tubby Smith.

Looks like Richard Pitino got wind of the Butler visit....met with Macura today.

 

Assuming we don't have room for both Macura and Justin Gray, tomorrow may be our best and only chance of landing Macura. (This assumption might not be the case if we plan to recruit with the expectation that a player or two moves on following the season.)

Frankly, it's surprising that Gray hasn't committed yet given his comments that Butler leads and that FGCU is his second best offer.

 

Word is other schools are ahead. Namely Butler.

If we landed him tomorrow, that would be HUGE. I couldn't say what the odds were, but if he likes Butler and Coach Stevens, then it is completely possible that he could commit

 

That's some good stuff from Wolfson. We take Macura and all signs IMO point to a 4 man class.

PF(almost have to get one as Marshall and Fromm graduate, too dicey depth wise to just go with Woods, Berry, Chrabascz in 14-15 season)

 

Just watched tape of Macura for the first time. He really has a complete game and works the baseline far better than most preps.

 

Would love to snag Macura tomorrow. Only downside is I like Mitchell more. Oh well... can't get 'em all.

 

Yeah if this kid commits that's a huge boost to this class and makes all of us feel very positive about the shape this class could take.

Their games are similar, but I think Macura is slightly more polished especially as a ball handler.

With that being said though, I would definitely like to have him on the team because he looks like he has a great shot, both mid-range and 3 pt range. We could use more shooters, even if he isn't able to create for himself."


This might be the all time dumbest player evaluation I have ever read. This kid has plenty of athleticism along with a cross over move and first step that leaves his defenders flat footed. Sheeesh....

 

Maybe Butler can put on a Xavier type show.
