Reggie Miller time. Youtube has a highlight video of last 3-4 minutes plus OT. Still can’t figure out how Spartans lost even after watching the video.
Hell of a night in Oxford. Had Courtside Club seats and they actually won. The kids looked way more relaxed and they were actually smiling. That's way different than how it's been the last couple years. I'm a huge Kermit homer but he just was not the right fit. Happy for the kids tonight. And here's Matt Murrell:
Holtmann saved his job today ???? and how did we lose to G-town after watching them at home today... jeesh!
The Iowa/Indiana womens game today was the best college basketball game that I have watched this season. Simply unreal game and an unreal shot. That being said Indiana’s strategy on defense there was ducking insane Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Funny people in Oxford have him as a possible target if he gets booted. The names I heard the most while down there were Holtmann, Penny, Beard, Will Wade (if he escapes a show cause), Dusty May and Casey Alexander (that's my preferred choice).
I do not. I was told that there was something in his contract that allowed Ole Miss to fire him and not have to pay the full buyout, and that is him becoming an "Ambassador" for the school. No idea what that means but it pays him a good amount and if you "re-position" him it saves Ole Miss many millions. Even so...I can't imagine he does. It was a complete failure. He has all the money in the world and a special needs child. I think he takes a big time step away and that we never see him on the sidelines again. JMO.
Gonna be such an Ole Miss/SEC move to hire a dude who beats women to be the face of the second most notable institution of their university simply because he’ll probably win games.
Antoine Davis falls 3 points short of Maravich. Detroit Mercy loses, season over...unless something incredibly bogus happens like the CBI inviting Detroit Mercy (kenpom 202) to play so Davis can get the record in their tournament.
Our old buddy Cooper Neese has 6 3’s in 7 minutes of the second half against Belmont in the MVC quarterfinals. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
This Belmont-Indiana state game is awesome. Neese has 30 Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
Big night tonight at my household - decades in the making for my alma mater. Looking at the net rankings today though, this is absolutely wild. Never seen the two schools I love together like this.
What a run by penn state to go from on the bubble to a lock and maybe a 9 seed now, and have a chance to win the big ten tourney So stoked for them and the shrews Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops mobile app
So the Ivy League is rotating through each school as host of their tournament and this year that meant that No. 2 seed Princeton got to play No. 1 Yale on its home court in the championship. Princeton won. Same thing happened in 2019 when No. 2 seed Yale beat No. 1 seed Harvard at home. Is it just me or is it nuts to have a setup where that happens regularly?
Curious if they both get in. Feel like VCU is a likely bid stealer but Dayton wouldn’t get an at large.
A-10 was down this year with no at-large candidates. Only today’s winner (VCU) is getting in. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
Can’t recall the specifics but the HL was doing something similar until they realized they were actually harming the team that had the best chance of advancing in the NCAA.
Is that when they started moving the championship to the highest remaining seed? That's how it was when I first started following Butler 20 years ago, with the highest remaining seed hosting the finals. I think.
