Not sure where else to put this, but.. [tweet]528567338267082752[/tweet] [tweet]528681346181652481[/tweet]
Yep. Humboldt State didn't shoot it particularly well (43.8% from 2, 30% from 3), but had a lot of extra possessions since St. John's gave up 20 offensive rebounds and turned the ball over 21 times. The rebounding numbers are of particular concern considering that Humboldt State didn't have anyone with significant size outside of Thomas Witzel who's 6'8, 248 (really no one else over 6'6 played significant minutes). St. John's also only went 8 deep and Harrison, Obepka and Jordan all played over 30 minutes. HSU was 11-17 last year and lost their exhibition to St. John's 106-39 last season.
Friday, November 14, 2014 Big East Scores: St. John's - 77 NJIT - 58 Xavier - 90 Northern Arizona - 63 Villanova - 77 Lehigh - 66 Creighton - 104 Central Arkansas - 77 Marquette - 79 UT - Martin - 63 DePaul - 72 UIC - 71 Other Opponents: Chattanooga - 110 Hiwassee College - 53 Texas Tech - 71 Loyola (Md) - 59 North Carolina - 76 North Carolina Central - 60 Indiana State - 79 IUPUI - 66 (OT) Northwestern - 65 Houston Baptist - 58 Syracuse - 89 Kennesaw State - 42 VCU - 85 Tennessee - 69 Indiana - 115 MVSU - 65 Wright State - 73 Belmont - 70
Belmont losing to Wright State kinda shocks me. Northwestern struggled with Houston Baptist...interesting.
Outside of the Bahamas, I really think this schedule is not THAT hard. We should be able to get out of it with 2 or 3 losses.
fyi...UT-Chatt plays at Wisconsin Sunday at 1 PM. It's on one of the ESPN networks. Speakers Lab briefly mentioned their style in another thread. Their coach used to be an assistant at VCU, so that tells you all you need to know. BTW Wisconsin looks really good. They hammered Northern Kentucky last night. Would love to get a shot at them in Atlantis, but to do that we probably would need to advance to championship game.
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/_/id/2166/davidson-wildcats -------- North Carolina vs Davidson Sat at 2 PM. Brice Johnson appears to be the man thru 2 games for the Tar Heels.
Creighton beat an injury laden a North Carolina Central 65-45. What was interesting is that Central was 0-3 free throws and Creighton was 22-25. Creighton's defense was suspect. They depend on ball movement, jump shots and free throws.
http://indiana.scout.com/story/1484622-news-and-notes-indiana-receiving-votes ---------- LMAO. Rabjohns and Hutchens should be embarassed.
I watched the last 10 minutes of that game. Sheer comedy watching Crean coach. Way to go Eastern Washington.
