More bad comps, we're down to 44 on Kenpom, That's NIT territory...
Listening to Dakich today and he’s so dismissive about Butler Interviewed Jay Wright and used both IU and Purdue in making comparisons to Nova’s play this year and then barely slipped in Butler at the end mentioning our loss. Follows up now with mocking some IU blogger who said something to the effect about Phinisee’s shot being “lore”. But it was the way he said “Butler” and followed up with more commentary—infuriating. Like BU was a JV program.
Dakich is an IU lover and Big Ten guy. Can't help himself.
We will see what these boys are really made of starting tonight, it's up to them to decide where they want to go- NCAA or NIT.
Understood. But he interviews Vall every week and 1070 is our broadcast partner—you’d think he could show a little respect not to mention objectivity.
This is Dakich we're talking about. It's unfortunate, but if I were you I'd give up hoping for him to be a mature professional.

50th in the NET. 1-5 in Q1 & 4-3 in Q2.
GT home loss now in Quad 3. Dayton loss on the verge of slipping into Q3. If GT keeps winning and makes the Top 75, our away game in DC will be Q1 (same as the PC game on the road as of now). One positive is our average NET win is still lower/better than several teams in front of us at the moment.
As mentioned by virtually everyone on the board, a Marquette win at home would be huge if the Dawgs can pull it off.

At least X and IU continue to lose...
Yeah the misery truck has quite a few members this year. I hate the way we are performing, but the bug has bitten many of our adversaries. At least that's fun.
55 in the NET. That's holding on to an NIT bid by fingertips. Let's hope we show up on Saturday.
Saturday doesn't fix all things but a win gives a little momentum towards an nit bid. Stay top 60ish and go 5-4 or so the rest of the way, that's enough I would think. And any extra work And coaching this team can get is a bonus.
Maybe I'm nuts and/or would feel differently in March, but I really feel like I'd rather make no tournament if its not the tournament. Playing in the NIT is just insult to injury.
Having a chance to beat IU at Hinkle sure might be fun if the basketball Gods somehow smiled on us.
I think, as Willis said, that the extra practice time makes it a positive.
Yeah otherwise I may snub my nose at it instead of rooting for it. I just think this "product" is still coming together (coaching included) and the more games the better. Good talent next season, but still need to work on these pieces and a couple extra semi high level games only helps imo.
While I would prefer the NCAA as well, playing the NIT will at least allow the team more time to have organized practices and work on things.
