OT: Invasive re-direct Advertisements?

    I'm referring only to viewing from my phone. I use Chrome with no problems on my laptop.

    Having issues again. Redirecting to Google Play for Words with Friends, GSN Casino, Farmville, and similar apps. Had no issues yesterday but this morning almost every other click I'm redirecting.

    I'm really trying here but am fighting a losing battle. Either I'm not finding the correct ads that are causing the problems or I am but more pop up each time I disable one. These things are like Hydra. I even tried disabling all flash ads but that doesn't seem to help any.

    As I've mentioned before, this site can't function without ads, but I have added an alternative for those that wish to use it. I've added a VIP member group where you can pay to disable the ads. $1.99/month, with as much as a 50% discount for buying up to a year. ($12/year). I'm sure to some this will look like I have created/allowed the problem in order to promote a type of subscription access to this site but I can assure you that is not the case. A simple google search will revel that other sites, even multi-million dollar companies, are having this problem.

    It looks like on the iPhone you can also set it so it cannot go from safari to the app store (this applies to both unintentional and intentional redirects). It's under Settings -> General -> Restrictions -> Enable Restrictions -> Disable "Installing Apps". I'm not sure if there is a similar method for other mobile operating systems or not.

    So until this is figured out there are currently 4 options I'm aware of to avoid the problem:

    1) Adblock
    2) Tapatalk
    3) Disable App Store Access to Safari
    4) Pay to remove ads

    Is it possible that this has gotten worse? Jared, I know you're trying, but it's getting to where I can't access the site from my phone. FYI. I guess it's time to learn Tapatalk...

    Here's an off the wall tip that has worked for me. Go browse a few Car maker websites. Run a quote at Kelly Blue Boook and run a quote at Truecar. I did this per a friends recommendation.

    The car ads are pretty aggressive in targeting for banner placement. Since doing that 2 days ago I don't know if I've seen an ad that isn't a car ad and have yet to be redirected.

    I think Jared tried to disable ads for games, but I occasionally get an ad for "Brave Frontier" and also some kind of Card game (I haven't yet had enough time to identify it before redirecting) that still gets me. It's been a lot better since getting some car ads targeting me.

    It's seems to be mostly the cheap mobile game ads that cause the redirect.

    No idea if this is helpful to you, but I did some screen captures of 3 of the ads that I routinely see redirecting. I know you said you were having trouble identifying which ones were causing the problems.

    Let me know if this is helpful. Soon, I'll just adblock altogether. Thought I'd try to help first.

    I had to finally give up on the mobile site. Switched to Tapatalk. Not crazy about it, but it's not without its positives.

    This is another that I've seen a few times but have never got a full load of the banner. Not sure if it just redirecting to quickly or if it just be design doesn't have anything more to it.

    Tapatalk has recently redone their app. If you didn't like it earlier I would recommend you give it another try. It's a little easier to navigate. It's what I use almost exclusively to access the site from my iPhone. Unfortunately it doesn't appear as if there is an immediate resolution coming to the redirect problem.
