    Next game up...

First Big East Home game for the Dawgs.

Coming off a game that was supposed to be a confidence booster against a good SIU team, but instead exposed even more of the weaknesses for this team.

Since joining the BEast, Butler is 4-12 against Providence.

Providence is coming off it's first conference game, a 3 point win in OT against Seton Hall.

Butler is coming off...well, whatever that was Monday night.

Based on what I have seen, I will "pick 'em" some Providence

They're definitely going to lose, especially if Thompson's out (which I'd fully expect him to be). In the Big East, everyone knows what Butler is going to run on offense and how to counter whatever it is they attempt on defense. That basically means you either have to have superior individual play or you just have to be even better running your stuff or have counters to what a team will try on defense or offense. Butler has none of that right now over Providence.

Having said that, it's another opportunity for the Freshmen to get their feet wet against another quality opponent, and hopefully for the Bryces to continue to work themselves back to even what they were a year ago. I'll be most interested in seeing if they've gotten any better on the defensive end of the floor, but I'd be surprised considering the lack of time between games.

Yeah this is the year to fade Butler. May as well make money while we suck.

Had the +400 moneyline on SIU last night, killed me to do it, but couldn't help myself.

Providence can be either really bad or really good. Unfortunately for us the really good side of them usually happens at Hinkle.

Hope they are. Can't stand what Oats pulled at Buffalo. Just like Boltman, decimated the staff and recruiting class.

As of 1:39 AM EST we are 1.5 underdogs. I think I like Providence here. But I'll wait to see AT's status.

Well, best to get them early season than late. this year, unless they're clanking everything including inside, we got no shot at a W.

Yeah, it's interesting. It's usually better to play Providence early, as they seem to get better later in the season, just about every year. This year though, I'm not sure that's much of an advantage, since Butler may also be better by later in the season.

I just hammered $325 Butler ML at +104, fun money either way.

    edit: realized I did 325, not 300.

Randomly identify a marginal rotational player with a roughly 31% career 3pt. FG% on Providence's roster.

Ok, do you have your guy?

He is going to go 4/5 from 3 tonight and score about 19. It will be the best game of his career.

This happens like clockwork against them, and it proceeded this coaching regime.

Am I reading this correctly we play Providence twice in a row?

Also, my new cable package doesn't get CBSSN. I was going to do the upgrade or streaming package for a month and then cancel...but is it even worth it?

Every time. I feel like there are a fair amount of back-breaking, banked-in 3's too. I remember Kris Dunn having a couple.
