I'm not sure what the colts thought they were getting in Matt Ryan but...dude is completely washed up. These last couple years having to watch him so much was boring and annoying.
I’m not saying he’s been great the last two weeks - he hasn’t. But the line has been crap and he has the worst combo of WRs and TEs in the league. I don’t put a lot of blame on him. That the front office looked at this WR and TE group all offseason and said “yeah this will do” is mingle boggling.
When you're going to take on an aging qb like this...without much movement left in him...should have worked to get a better line. He's not mobile at all and although his arm is ok...if an organization is going to try and ride him...they need to surround him better than the colts did.
The thing is, they’re paying more for their line than anyone else in the league, and I do think they have a top flight LG and RT. They’re grossly overpaying the center, and the right guard is serviceable. The LT situation ain’t great, but they used some draft capital to try to reload there. All of which is to say, the front office is really investing on that point. If the line isn’t good (and it hasn’t been so far) that’s probably more on the players and the staff than the front office. Where the front office has got this colossally F’d up is in having the worst group of targets in the league (objectively, if you look at separation analytics), and insisting it’s fine. If you’re a QB, and literally no one can beat their guy, there’s not a damn thing you can do.
How many funerals does one person get? I get it...she was a big deal and a great woman yada yada...but she's been dead now for like 6 weeks (I kid, but, not really) and I still am turning on every news station and seeing funerals and services and cars driving her dead ass around. It's annoying. Not like the news in the states is anything I want to see (everything pretty much sucks) but I'm bored with days and days and days watching a dead person bounce around. When I go...take a duraflame to me and spread my ashes over the north Mississippi Delta portion of the Mississippi River. And have it done as soon as possible. Dead is dead, let's move on.
Braden Smith has not been good and receivers can’t get open. Makes it tough to watch Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
This Colts team gives me flashbacks to how I felt about last years Butler team Has some talent but it's poor roster construction and not being put in position to succeed Dealing with some injuries Looks lethargic and like they're just going through the motions Coach is a nice guy but repeatedly does things that makes you facepalm and just doesn't seem to have it Apathy as a fan setting in to where I just don't care
I'm hoping the recruiting stays hot for Marcus Freeman and they can find some success on the field this year, because LaVall is exactly who I've been thinking of these first 3 weeks with Notre Dame.
The thing that irked me is them cancelling all the soccer/football matches last weekend out of respect, tradition, honor, etc etc. Then they've had to cancel more matches this past week and weekend bc of police shortage. Like FFS, they're already killing their economy enough by shutting down the country for two weeks, but could you at least give some ppl joy by only canceling 1 game. If this were the SEC, they wouldn't have cancelled any games. Also, how big of a $%#! do you have to be to invite 2,000 ppl to celebrate before the funeral and not invite the Queen's grandson and wife.?!?! Sheesh
With the international break, many of the PL teams won’t have played in like a month. Thank God Fulham picked up 3 pts at Forest and Arsenal smashed Brentford. But what was going to be 2 seasons (pre and post World Cup) has seemingly been 3 since teams get a mini reset right now ahead of this short season before the WC. It was already an insanely condensed schedule… no clue now how they get all the England games in - EPL makeups, Carabao, FA, Europe, etc.
That’s hilarious! Thanks for getting my work day started off with a laugh. Sent from my iPhone using Butler Hoops
I got in trouble last night laughing so hard at this. I kept going back and back and back and just couldn't stop giggling. She was like "he is probably really hurt, that is mean to laugh at him."...but I kept laughing.
Agree, so many fans have stuck up for Ballard. I'm not in that camp at all. I think he's blown many draft classes. For example, 2019's first four picks that should be the young nucleus of the current Colts team. - drafted Rock Ya-Sin. Debo Samuel was selected later in the same round by the 49ers. - drafted Ben Banogu. A.J. Brown was selected later in the same round by the Titans. - drafted Parris Campbell. DK Metcalf was selected later in the same round by the Seahawks. - drafted Bobby Okereke. Maxx Crosby was selected later in the same round by the Raiders. It's really easy to second guess after the fact, but look at who we could have had. Those are serious talent evaluation misses.
